========================================

Adobe revamped (Upgraded?) their online "cloud" storage. What used to be at adobe.com has been moved to Revel. It is more in line with other storage clouds on line and allows Adobe a more structured fee system (revenue source). If you had anything stored at adobe.com, they will move it for you, and now you are susceptible to monthly charges. The net is no longer revenue neutral.

While Snopes does make some good points, it also stretches the point in other places. Snopes is not totally objective.

What on the web is? All opinions have a political, moral, economic or social point of view. The web has the ability to mix opinion and fact seamlessly. One just has to use one's native intelligence to sort out the frass.

Have a history teacher explain this if they can.

I remember first seeing this about 1965. Wondered about it then, but to research it out would have taken too much effort (no internet :D )
Now, a quick inquiry to snopes.com results in this: http://www.snopes.com/history/american/lincoln-kennedy.asp
All just a fabrication of someone's mind.

I have a "landscape" right here in my front yard. At least, that is what the nurseryman told me when he handed me the big-bucks invoice!

Wanting a plamp alternative.
I just looked online for this item and found it pretty pricey for the product...
Can anyone tell me how to make one for myself?
Where to get the parts?
I've not been much of a diy person, I am just a grammy...But over $40 is a bit much.

Is this what you are trying to achieve?

My guess is you can duplicate this for about 15 bucks.

Thank you Graham for a great discussion. I am inspired by your "thinkflow" as you approach the scene. Reminds me to imagine the result before setting up. Been too long since I took that time.

How did you get him to wait while setting up? All my deer pics are rump-shots!

Be sure to review focus lock and manual focus for your camera. Especially on calm seas cameras can have a problem finding enough contrast to focus. Mine hunted all over the place until I remembered focus lock! Not a problem on rough seas - but that can create another series of headaches.

Thanks for the update underwaterant. I now know how important it is to keep up with the weather satellite in the "roaring 40's". Conditions can change fast. NZ has been cooler than I expected. But it is still warmer than Reno - 5F this AM.

Here are a couple of my shots from NZ. There are many more on my site on Flickr.

Those shots are great. My first instant impression of the Tobacco entrance was that it was a poster. Just beautiful!

The best thing you can take is lots of time. New Zealand may be small in comparison with a lot of places but what is to be seen in one Island alone is astonishing. Just see and do all you can fit in. You'll miss plenty but you'll find it simply won't matter. If you get amongst it the word "wilderness" will take on a meaning you won't forget in a hurry. I'm sure you'll have a trip to talk about.
Mike.

The last thing I want to do is speed through the Island. My distances and times are based on google maps, but I am allowing 100% more time to stop every 500 meters and "waste" 15gpixels.
One thing nobody has mentioned is food. Any indigenous specialties? Mutton stew, cajun lamb shanks? Fricasseed kiwi? Braised penguin? We always like to try local delicacies.

Photoninny, suggest you give Mount Cook a miss. Don't think the snow looks very impressive in February, and the only hotel is the world's worst and a complete tourist trap. Instead, stay an extra day at Queenstown taking more shots of the steamboat.

Sounds like your NPs have the same problem ours do.
Lovely framing by the way ...
