I bought one to try lightning as a subject but ended up in a place I could never try it (canopy and lack of storms). I have however used it to capture some shy hummingbirds, and it worked well. I setup the shot, pre-focused and came into the house where I could see them through the window and trigger a burst from my phone. So far, I'm happy with it and looking forward to trying some of the other features, particularly HDR bracketing.
I just ordered....I tried Luminar and liked it, so I took a shot and bought this on sale. I'm looking forward to giving it a try. I like what it does with a single RAW, but I will still shoot brackets when my ultimate intention is to create an HDR image.
I joined a few days ago, have been looking around and decided I'd introduce myself. As my handle indicates, I'm a captain (among other things) and my name is Ed. I'm currently living in Miami, on a boat. Photography has been a hobby for me on and off since the 90's. I'm capturing with a Canon 80D I recently acquired, and learning my way around the camera and post processing (lots to learn here). I'll post some shots here and there. Feel free to offer advice and critique, but be nice ;-) I shoot mostly outdoors, sunsets are a favorite of mine and I'm playing in other areas (street, long exposure, weather) to see what inspires me. The attached captures are of my "back yard"
