Don't know how it looks in color but I do like the B/W. Nice tonal value

It was shot in monochrome. Thanks for the comment. Matt

Good shot Matt, but I suggest a horizontal flip since we read left to right in the western world [yep even Cape Cod is in the western world].

Did you take another shot from a lower angle... ?? And would you please clone out the two houses in the upper right of this photo... make it pure country isolation.

Thanks. The stream is flowing from top left to bottom right. I wasn't able to get a better angle so I will duck into PS to see what I might accomplish. Appreciate the suggestions. Matt

Great IQ and contrast. You can see the Leica is worth the price.

Yes. Some gorgeous stuff coming out of this camera. Now I need to learn PS.

My first thought was that this was muddy water but when I looked at the download I saw it is very clear. I find it interesting, particularly when downloaded.

Thanks Carol.

This is a much more subdued Ginger than my last series. However, I think this white variety has an elegance of its own. It is really beautiful in bright light.

Carol, These are gorgeous. Velvety texture, smooth transitions in tones, very sensual and 3-dimensional. Marvelous work. Artist's touch. You didn't try to improve the flower, just reveal it. Well done. Matt

I do love big skies. Interesting, as I started to type more, I re-read Carol's comments and we both love this pic, but have different emotional responses. I was going to write that it's understated and gentle, rather than dramatic. How cool is that?!

Different folks, Linda. Thanks for your comment. More on the way.Matt

I love the height and drama of this shot. I'll take your word that they are people because they are definitely tiny!

Thanks Carol. And they got smaller as they continued toward the water line, about a mile out. I have some other shots from this morning that I will review and post, if they are worth it. Thanks for your comment. Matt

Hi, Matt,
The water, reeds, and the three boulders would, unto themselves, be an interesting subject.
Unfortunately , the background in the posted image is far too distracting.
Perhaps a more distant view from somewhat to the left - or perhaps a higher perspective (try a ladder?) - with a longer focal length could better isolate your intended subjects.

Dave

Thanks Dave. As always, very specific and helpful suggestions. Much appreciated. Matt

Effective depiction of space. I also like the level of contrast throughout.

If it were not for the title, I may not have guessed that the three rocks are the primary subject, as they are relatively small within the composition. But it's a visually interesting scene nevertheless.

Thank you. For me the primary focus is the curving line between water and grass, but I couldn't think of a title to convey that. I appreciate your comment. Matt

I'm impressed with the detail in the distant trees. I think you were fighting a few hot spots like the sun shining on the white hulls of the boats. You did manage a good range of tonality here. I can see several different shades of gray in the water and in the sand. I also think it is a strong composition. You put the horizon high in the frame which makes us look closer at the foreground. I understand the title; but the grasses and the textures in the water play an important role here as well. Of course a title is just a title so what is in the photo is always more significant than what is stated in the title. I really like this photo for its composition and the detail. So glad you got your Leica back. I'm sure you are thrilled to have it back and I'm sure that we will be treated to more enjoyable scenes from Cape Cod in the near future. Thanks for posting.
Erich
I'm impressed with the detail in the distant trees... (show quote)

Thank you Erich. Are you back? How was the hike. What caught my eye here was the sinuous and sensuous line edging the grass and water. I am also trying to pay attention to the grays; thanks for noticing that. Matt

A little whimsy there this morning. I love shots like this. Good eye, Matt.

Yes. I spotted this as I was leaving the horse barn after a frustrating half hour looking for the best angle and light on the stalls. I left with a smile believing I might have at least one photo from the day. Thanks. Matt
