I love the height and drama of this shot. I'll take your word that they are people because they are definitely tiny!

Thanks Carol. And they got smaller as they continued toward the water line, about a mile out. I have some other shots from this morning that I will review and post, if they are worth it. Thanks for your comment. Matt

I do love big skies. Interesting, as I started to type more, I re-read Carol's comments and we both love this pic, but have different emotional responses. I was going to write that it's understated and gentle, rather than dramatic. How cool is that?!

I'm leaning toward Linda's assessment. When I took a good look on download, I noticed that the sky and the beach area seem to merge. The tones in the monochrome are very similar. This makes the overall impression less dramatic for me. Instead there is a sameness to the sky and the land which gives the feeling, like Linda stated, of peace and serenity. My first impression was that it might need a bit more contrast; but I don't think so anymore. I actually like it very much just the way it is. I think this photo is a very good effort.

Matt,
I'm quite taken with this image.
My reaction is in the contemplative, peaceful arena, rather than dramatic.
And, by the way, the 3D conversion seems, to me, to re-affirm that peaceful sense. It calls to mind the last morning walk on the shore on such an overcast day ...the day of closing the cottage at summer's end.
