I think it's only available in the CC version of LR. Amazing transformation for one slider.

You might check out BosStrap. Not cushioned but connects to lug instead of tripod socket and slides up similar to what you described. I've used BosStrap on about four camera bodies. (I've used UpStrap on about 12 bodies.)

I've enjoyed reading some of the non-subscriber content on the Diglloyd website. Are any of you subscribers to this and do you think it's worth the subscriber fee? I think it's $75 per year.

I use a yellow Pelican 1300 case with foam insert to carry small dslr and 70-300 zoom lens while kayaking. I have flipped over multiple times, submerging the case under water with no water seepage into the case.
Additional comments:
- Two latches make for easy access and easy re-securing of camera. (I carry it between my legs in kayak.)
- Use rope or or other attachment to tie case to watercraft.
- Yellow is most visible - not just for case but also watercraft.
- While the small waterproof point and shoot cameras are great and convenient, you are limited on zoom capabilities and ability to use circular polarizer.

I like it and used it virtually always since I first found it many years ago for the following reasons:
1) I like its looks
2) the sixes (6) and eights (8) are clearly identifiable
3) as a former financial guy (if not already evident), I found it a little less formal in an overly formal environment
4) at the time I found it, it was not commonly used and I liked the uniqueness.

Joe Ely is great. I've seen him play about 20 times either with his own band or with Jimmie & Butch as The Flatlanders. Jimmie and Butch are also each great in their own right. They used to play for tips on Sunday afternoons at Gruene Hall.

I loved seeing these great photos, John. I have photos of the Lower Falls that I took in late summer a few years ago so it is very interesting to see what they look like in winter.

So, how do they get a stuck Snow Cat unstuck?

I had version I of this lens and really enjoyed using it. Although it did not provide the image quality of my better lenses (Canon L, Zeiss & Sony FE), I did enjoy using it for casual hikes with crop sensor Canons. When I gave away my Canon 50D to my son a few years ago, I also gave him several lenses including this one.

I have missed having it for things like those hikes so when I got the substantial rebate from B&H on the purchase of a Canon 200-400mm, I used it to preorder this version II. I have not yet received it but anxiously await it.

Welcome to the Hog, John. This is the first post of yours that I have seen.

I have one of your books that I bought while in Yellowstone. It's one of the best of the dozens of photography books that I have bought.
