Somewhat related, but for custom white balance I've had good results using an Expodisc:

I couldn't get in with that link either.

Looks interesting...
Koni- Omega Rapid 100.
A true Frankencamera! ( but capable of some great images)

Next worse was the Graflex XL, with it's wonderful Zeiss lenses. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Graflex-XL-CARL-WEISS-PLANER-80mm-Lens-/320809917774? That camera kept breaking, kept our maintenence man busy- we replaced all of them with Mamiya C-330's when I was working as a high school intern at the base photo lab in the Philippines.
Both cameras had great image quality- that big negative was amazing, once you got a good one.
I didn't own them but they were the cameras the USAF decided we needed.
As far as Fuji's go- the Fuji S5 ( Nikon D200 with Fuji sensor) is a great protrait camera. Fuji got the sensor right on this one, jpegs right out of the camera are fantastic once you get it dialed in. Fuji made/makes great film and that quality and knowledge transferred to digital. No longer made, unfortunately.
My wife and close friends aren't aging, but our kids are catching up with us.
I would have to agree with the Canon 95 recommendation, though I have not used the newer 100. I opted to take an SD1300 backpacking at Philmont Scout Ranch this summer- didn't want to carry anything heavy and more expensive. Couple photos below.
Ken Rockwell has some recommendations here.

Thanks for the above link Hangman.
Very interesting and a good tool to use in trying to persuade my boss I need to upgrade.
Prove me wrong (please!) but I don't think the Nikon 24-70 is available with VR.
Great link jjestar
Nikon 2.8 17-55 (DX ) is a great lens for a bit more on the wider end, but if you know you'll go FF in the future, the 24-70 would be the best bet.
Definitely not cheap, but you'll only buy this lens once.
Lenses don't evolve as fast as camera bodies.
I gotta agree with Ken Rockwell on his review:

Depends on what you want to do with it. While I like the grainy look of Tri-X, when I wanted smooth, grainless (almost) enlargements, I used to use chromogenic film that processes in C-41 chemistry (Color neg) which you can still get developed at most processors.
I used Ilford XP2 back in the "dark" room ages.

Are high-end Nikon lenses interchangeable with high-end Canon Lenses, and Vice Versa? I suspect not, but if that's the case is there some sort of attachment that makes this possible?
Thanks,

At risk of offending them, I've only read about Canon users using adapters to use Nikon lenses, not the other way around. Read into it what you will..
LOL!!! I use that program myself and get the same response from the people I use it on. It usually does too much in the default mode, so I dial it way back in most cases.
