First, I was not suggesting that their employers should pay for the equipment. Second, I suggest that some of you that are criticizing me for wanting a little more silence during press conferences should do a little self reflecting. Would you want to hear the clatter of shutters at a golf event? What about a wedding? How about at Bob Dole's memorial service? Personally, I didn't hear any shutters during Bob Dole's ceremony so I can only conclude that the photographers were either told not to use mechanical shutters or they had enough disapline to know that it would be inappropriate. I live very near the Nixon Presidential Library and have been fortunate to have had the oppotunity to hear many great speakers including Ollie North and John Dean. I found it very disruppting to have a photographer firing off a Nikon or Canon with mechanical shutter at 15 frames a second in my ear. I came to listen to the speaker, not Nikon or Canon. Now, I can hear some of you say, "Well, just move to a quieter place if the noise is too loud." These events are so popular that once you have acquired a seat, you're better off not standing up for fear you may loose it.

Your other points aside, I think you missed my point. While as a working journalist who both wrote and shot, I did the photography with my own gear. It wouild have been nice to have company gear, but, as I said, most shooters buy and use their own. Were I working now, I'd shoot with my D5300 and that's that. Shutter noise is a small price to pay for a free press. Hey, somebody want to give me the money to own the equivilent gear ini the Nikon Z line, I'll take it. But that ain't reality.

As Mr. Shapiro said, essentially, be glad we have a free press. A lot of reporters and photogs bust their asses and put themselves in harm's way to make sure we know what's going on.

Few things rile me up more than disrespecting the press.

I don’t comment on politics on the Hog. So I am going to tell you that the majority of the photographers, even at that level, shot with their own equipment. A lot of them aren’t going to spent good money on the mirrorless cameras when they already have perfectly good and expensive full frame cameras. In my experience, very few employers are springing to buy these people gear.

I don't use lightroom. I stick with PS; but I always use Gigapixel alone because it's less confusing to me.

Good afternoon, Rongnongno. Yes one girl who appears too young was massacred in PP, by me. I've already admitted it and have taken steps to remedy my unfortune misjudgment. And she is not too young, she is quite old enough to make her own decisions in all affairs of her life, and may I say much more mature in her youth than some of the wise old guys I've witnessed on this forum.

It seems to me that you have something of a chip on your shoulder, or maybe a grudge with the whole idea of nude photography?? Surely you must be able to find something nice to say? May I suggest not tuning in to this particular station if it so bothers you to induce a rant. Just like watching tv.

I debated most of today to respond to Rongnongno, thinking why waste my time. Tell him what I tell others about looking at anything. If you don’t want to see it, don’t look at it. But WirtzWorld did it better.

I don’t know where to start on this. A few months ago, I posted a bunch of my images and got wonderful feedback and even some help on editing. It was affirming and just what I needed as I battle some chronic illness that manifested last June. I am slowly in recovery and sometimes I just don’t have the mental strength to do more than scan photos on this site. And, because of my experience, I won’t post negative comments if I don’t like a photo. Maybe, as I beat back some of this illness, I’ll engage more with my hedgehog community.

Everyone has their own story and this one is mine at this time. I’ll try to engage more if I can.

Thanks for raising this issue.
