Regardless of what other equipment you have, I believe that everyone should carry a good pocketable camera. Good cell phone should fit the bill.
I have developed back/leg problems, which limits my walking and carrying. I recently toured the Michigan UP, and used a Canon s110. I got decent results, but missed having a viewfinder. Am looking for something like a Lumix zs40/50/60. Any other affordable suggestions?

I guess that depends on your budget. I use a very compact Panasonic DMC-ZS100 for convenience or travel in areas where my mirrorless Nikons would be a burden to carry. 25-250 zoom range, 1 inch sensor and 20.1 megapixels. They are just shy of $500 new but you can sometimes find them used - MPB has one in excellent condition for $369. KEH has the international version for $275, also in excellent condition.

I spent the weekend in Boyertown, PA at a ukulele festival. Lots of fun. I had to decide what camera(s) to bring. I brought a Fuji X-T30, GoPro, DJI Pocket 2, and Sony WX9. The first three never left the car. The tiny Sony stayed on my belt in its case. I could pop it out, take a shot, and put it back. It worked fine for outdoor shots, but in a dimly lit room - not so much. With wide open lens and slow shutter, and my less than steady hands, there was lots of blurry indoor shots. I used it for (indoor) video, too, with iffy results.

I more or less knew what to expect from this camera, but the alternative was out of the question. Carrying a ukulele and a bag of stuff, I wasn't about to add a camera. Overall, I'm satisfied with the results. I got some good pictures, and the people running the event will post many more - taken by a professional. When I get around to processing, I'll post some.

Any reason why the new Nikon’s stayed home?

Here are a few from a quick look. All the large animal images were taken behind fences or mesh and I was still able to get these results. The panther image was cropped and then the next with the face was from the same image only at 100%. You can all decide what you think.

Nikon Z7II and Tamron 70-300 new one for the Z camera.

Eagle taken at F6.3 ISO 200 1/50 sec 300mm
panther at F6.3 ISO 400 and 1/40 sec 210 mm
Flower at F6.3 ISO 400 1/40 sec and 198 mm
Lizard at F6.3 ISO 400 1/2000 and 300mm
tiger at F6.3 ISO 400 1/100 and 260mm

I'll be giving more of a workout over the next few weeks. Let me know your first impressions.

Is it just me or does it seem odd that the vegetation in the background does not seem charred?

1956 Chevrolet Delivery

This appears to be a customized 1956 Chevy Handyman Wagon 210. Pretty sure they did not use solid panels over the rear side windows so that would appear to be customized, as well as the removal of the chrome trim that was standard at the time running down the side of the body. This one sure is attractive.

Nice car. Buick was the first US brand to put a V6 motor in it’s car and Skylark (and possibly the Special) used that motor.

Looking at the following
Nikon 14-24
Signs 14-24
Tampon 15-30
I have read many reviews, I put more faith in the opinions of my fellow members. I have a D850 and D810.
Thanks in advance

I have always thought that lenses designed by the OEM were probably going to be the best bet. I traditionally stick with Nikon for Nikon, but understand that Tamron and Sigma produce some great glass. You could rent a few to see what meets your needs the best.

My condolences to my British friends here and abroad. While as a US citizen I don't recognize a monarchy (bow to or give allegiance to) , I have to say I very much liked and admired Queen Elizabeth the II. When she could have fled to the relative safety of the countryside during WWII, she stayed in London and actually played a part in the war as an ambulance driver. She was the epitome of grace, culture, and elegance. In the Oxford dictionary the only definition needed would be Queen Elizabeth II. She will be missed.

There was just something about her that was calming, even to those of us not born of British heritage. Her Royal Highness will be sorely missed by people throughout the world.

I would make sure you are buying something that was produced for the US market. If the product is grey market, you may have difficulty getting it repaired should you need to do so. Depending upon the brand, the repairs mage need to be done in the country of original sale, or at considerable expense to the purchaser. (For example, Nikon USA will not repair grey market products for any cost.)

Most defiantly not a Cord if it was a cord grill it would be worth a great deal of money.

The person selling it, according to the post, had no idea what it was from. So if that was the case, the buyer could have acquired it cheaply. I agree that it looks like a Cord grill.

Ideas?

I shoot most animals and lots of birds- many in flight.

My wife and I shoot Nikon . She has a Nikon 7100 and uses the 18-300 for her trips and family photos. I have a 7000 that sits in the car for stuff that you just see. I also have a 800 and 500 bodies. We have a 70-200 2.8, 200-500, 500 pf and 500 f4.
Seems like a lot of glass and bodies to make the switch.
Looking for better eye focus and saving weight too.

What you are contemplating is a complete change of system, and likely for both you and your wife. Assuming you are open to learning and patience with a totally new system, go for it. I had the choice a few years ago, dabbled in some other systems, but always had Nikon bodies and lenses. As I age, equipment seems to get heavier and I changed to the Nikon Z format. I retain familiarity with the Nikon brand and its peculiarities and find that the Z bodies and lenses meet my needs perfectly. Your choice and merely a snapshot of my experience. I do not typically shoot birds in flight or animals, so my needs are a bit different. Good luck with your choices and tell us what you decide to do.

My Nikon Z 24-200mm lens arrived yesterday. FedEx was a day late delivering, but it was still a fast delivery - five days. Although it's listed as "Used," it looks new. Everything in the Nikon box looks like it was never touched. The items are wrapped and taped just like they left the factory.

It works fine on the Z fc and the Z6 II. I saved about $150, and the lens has zero clicks on it, so it had never been used.

MPB received my three old cameras and lenses yesterday, and they'll get back to me when they evaluate them. Money in - money out.

EDIT: MPB offered me $100 for my Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8 ED lens. KEH offered $222.00. KEH has a better system for entering items. I could click on items in a long list - case, cap, two caps, etc. They also provide room for comments. For example, I can tell them that this was New Old Stock, and I was the first owner. The shipping is free via FedEx, and there is a FedEx drop-off store less than a mile from my house.

I hope you enjoy the new lens as much as I enjoy mine. Sounds like yours was unused as the seller probably found a better alternative. I have heard stories where people are off loading the 24-200 for the newer 24-120. I use mine for my enjoyment, like you, not to make money. Also, good luck on your trade values. I once had a similar experience with MPB on a sale to them , but slightly different. I wanted to sell them a Fuji XE3, but their examination said there were marks on the sensor that they could not remove with cleaning, and sent the unit back to me. I tested it over and over, and could not see the marks. I sent it to Fuji for an exam, they found nothing, and returned the unit to me. I then sent it to KEH, who placed an excellent rating on it, and promptly paid me. Go figure. All of my other transactions with MPB have been flawless.
