The only wrong was done by the couple. Time to stop your snively whining for the perpetrators of the crime. The only bad part is that he didn't kill the other one.

He shot the person in the back as they were fleeing?

That would be murder.

No, that's Pest Control.
They won't rob or assault anyone else.

Sent a lens for repair/service to Nikon ,Melville, NY. Took a month.
I understand factory warrenties, etc. But---
Are there service centers just as good? I'm in SW Fl.

Thanks for any and all help/input.

Len

I had my film camera (Olympus OM1) repaired by Southern Photo Technical Service (SPTS) http://sptsjaxfl.com/cms/ in Jacksonville. Have never had to have any Digital cameras repaired, although they say they fix them too. Closer than NY. Give them a call.

A Canon 1Dx shoots at 14 fps. How fast will your CF card record?

As far as I know, all zoom lenses reduce f-stop the farther out you zoom.
No, at 80mm it'll be 4.0!

No, we're just upgrading to the New Canon's.

Canon is a much larger company, and they sell more than Nikon, so it makes sense that more used Canon equipment would be offered for sale. The owners are probably switching to Nikon. :D

I don't know about Canon in particular, but all camera manufacturers are hurting. Nikon really got burned with the lack of interest in the mirrorless products they put out, but everyone is feeling softening sales because younger people are using their mobile phones, rather than things like DSLRs.

It is the same as what happened with the music arena: Mobile phones and similar products offer less quality than CDs and upper-level equipment, but the phones are easy to carry and perceived to be cheaper, since they serve multiple uses. Nikon seems to be de-emphasizing consumer cameras and even announced more concentration in Medical Imaging products; they are going a different direction.

Canon is probably doing some similar things, as all the manufacturers will, eventually.

I'm surprised that Canon & Nikon both haven't got into the cell phone business.

Canon had a D60 model back around 2002, and sold for about $2199 with Lens, battery & charger.
Sensor was 6.3 Megapixles.
Times and tech have sure changed, look what you can get for that price now!

I use my Luna Pro F all the time for setting up my flashes. Had it for more than 20 years and never a problem.

Yeah, little did they know by electing The Obama that they were going to get 8 more years of The Bush.

Are there any camera stores left in Jacksonville, I live in Savannah and Jacksonville is a few hours closer than Atlanta

To my knowledge there are no "Camera" Shops in Jax. There is Bruce, "The Camera Man" out at Beach Blvd. flea market, he buys and sells used equipment. There's Southern Photo Technical Service that repairs cameras. Other than that there's just Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Office Max and Office Depot, that sells Cameras. Sad, not to be able to hold what you want to buy before hand. I guess Best Buy would be the best place to do that.

not many well-stocked camera shops left, unless you're in NYC....we used to have a great camera store here in Jacksonville, FL....Brandens....but they went out of biz years ago....couldn't compete with deals found on the internet. I like Adorama and B&H online....great companies to deal with.

I remember Brandons Camera in Jax, I bought a lot of bulk B&W film from them. That was a thriving business back then. They filmed commercials in the big studio in back for a while. They folded at the advent of Digital. Too bad, nice people as I recall.
