Why would you do that? If the 6000 is still selling NEW for half the price of the 6400, the 6400 better be twice as good as the 6000. I don't see it. The 6xxx is old, (6yrs). What are the sales figures. Spend the money on glass until you can't do something you must have with the 6400 (when there will undoubtedly be a 6800 for even more money). You can buy used 6000s for $300 to $350. I just bought a 6xxx for $200 with lens and sold it a week later for $400.

New contemporary models of any make of camera is usually "sucker bait" and still get sold. I have a rule whereby I NEVER buy any new or second generation camera for over half of it's SRP.

But you go right ahead. It's your money. Do you have any idea through real world use, what the 6400 can do that you can't get done with your 6000. I thought not, or you wouldn't be asking us.

Although this may sound a bit crude, I would prefer the kind of "GAS" that is wet and in my pants, than the costly kind of buying new equipment.

That video came to mind immediately upon reading the title. Thanks for posting it.

Also the original video was made in a class project in 1969, created by Marv Newland. Much more suspense involved along with the disarming fairy like music track.

I also have seen Bambi meets Godzilla and am inclined to think that it is the true end for Bambi. I love to show it to children who have also seen the clip...."Santa meets Godzilla". Both made with tax dollars spent in film projects in various colleges.

Furthermore the original black and white project cartoon style of "Bambi meets Godzilla" was much more devastating and brutal than the color version mentioned in the last post. Clearly one of the comparisons that lends credence to B/W over color.

What is the WOI for your printer as you exceed the standard of 300 PPI. My understanding is the observation of print quality, if not visibly worse results in a reduced WOI (less expense).

If any of those lenses are Yashica (Yashinon) they are some of the best glass of the era. Any prime Yashinon lens should be an excellent candidate for mirrorless. The mounts were called Yashica/Contax. Super glass. Likely better than the Takumar lens. Is any of the lens inventory Yashinon... I might be interested.

Another downside is getting "stuff" from the diapers on one's camera equipment.

Well now?,,, that one is not much different than smearing vaseline or KY jelly on your lens for 'soft focus'.

Remember that the Fujifilm camera's have 7 custom profile settings for Jpeg. You can change one or more of the settings on this "custom menu" and have up to 7 custom settings to draw from with a simple custom profile change from one to another. No reason NOT to have up to 7 custom profiles in your camera before leaving the house or hotel for the day. This style of template encourages a way to ease the necessity for shooting RAW.

Someone on this site suggested that Jpegs do not tolerate post processing well. What a load of Horse Manure. Make some comparisons on new contemporary processing of Jpeg compared to RAW, instead of pedalling your old findings.

This custom PDF listing is one of the best ways to learn your camera to avoid Gear Gass.

Practice and make the right comparisons.

With information like this template, begins the reason I have not shot RAW for some time, and generally only use my computer to organize files. The differences between PP,ing RAW, and then learning to process with your camera image processor, and a little bit of PP,ing Jpeg's is minute.

Good article, good PDF, Thank you for this origimatic post.

If you follow the logic of 7 different custom profiles, be sure to list the seven shooting styles you intend to achieve with each custom profiles. Update list of shooting profiles as you change them. Recording your changes is a must, starting with the first use and changes of this shooting menu.

Wish I had ebay back when I had my 1969 A-65 BSA Lightning. I learned "on the job" how to repair and work with Lucas electrics.

Ah!!! John Lucas... inventor of the three way electric switch... Dim, Flicker and Off. Purveyor of Canned Ignition Smoke, to refill your ignition wiring in event of a short circuit.

I spent a number of years rebuilding and restoring Brit cars. Many makes.

Also Triumph, Norton and Beezers. Then switched to Airhead Beemers.

If I recall, this lens was the kit lens that came on my original first version 5D full frame camera. It originated during the film era and I had one on my Canon A2E. Excellent images on both digital and film. I have one now on my film A2E I currently own.

This building used to say "REDMOND UNION HIGH SCHOOL". i attended high school there from 1956 to 1961. Now I just pay traffic tickets there... last on for seat belt, about a year ago.

The exterior facade of this building has been retained for the conversion. Not wanting to change the look, the interior was gutted and a steel framework built inside for the City Hall operation. This happened over the last few years.

The city owned the building from long before I graduated.

Testing and configurin new Fujifilm X trans camera with the Fuji 16-50 zoom lens. Got it cheap, as it was recovered in BLOOD red covering... Ugly as sin. Why do people do these horrible cosmetic conversions.

The last two pix are of a Publie Art project on the site. Lot's of that in the newly rebuilt building.

My camera purchases have long been purchased and shipped many years ago. I am a second hand supporter of the camera industry. In 50 years of buying, and using cameras, I have purchased perhaps a half dozen, new and definitely NOT high end cameras.

All you'se guys keep on keepin' on!

Ever use one of these? Acquired them some years ago; never have used them....are they considered low-end?

And at the high end.....The old (fifties) Voigtlander Bessa II with the Apo Lanthar (Lanthanium) lens. When found often selling from $8000 to $12,000. There are currently 4 on eBay and there is usually always at least one.

The Apo Lanthar lens is the $$$ grabber. A lesser variant, Bessa II with a Color Skopar lens or Heliar lens will normally sell for $500 to $1500 depending on condition. The Apo Lanthar lens will go head to head with the largest sensor digital Nikon or Canon, although on 120 roll film.

The color rings on the front lens element denotes the Apo Lanthar lens on this camera. This is a spot on, when calibrated properly range finder linked to the lens standard and focus rangefinder. As capable and fast as todays AF.

Probably THE MOST comprehensive forum for current and OLD cameras will be www.rangefinderforum.com
located at:

https://www.rangefinderforum.com/

Look down the sidebar on the left.... huge number of sub forums here including all the cameras discussed here. In addition the fellow who owns rangefinderforum also has a website called

www.cameraquest.com which has extensive reviews of all old classic cameras. Hundreds of old cameras reviewed here.
