The best tripod and head is the one you have with you, so go carbon for low weight and less mvibrations and a GOOD ball head .
I worked my way through several rock solid tripods which were either too heavy or big to lug around and good landscape photography demands walking .
A good ball head (RRS/Acratech) can be set up such that it has a sweet spot that does not require any adjustment it will hold the camera steady but with extra hand manovering adjust to match the composition you need

Not sure people are reading your question it is the light brown reflection to the right of the Heron goes from its beak down to the base of the photo.
I would clone it out, first select that quarters water going very carefully around the birds wing and beak with care it should disapear without loosing the ripples on the water

Acratech, purchased second hand works perfectly easy to clean, light and has a great sweet spot where you adjust the friction and can then move the camera with minimal hand pressure but holds it stationary when your hand is removed , NO adjustment needed, beware of cheap heads and lubriicants they are not suitable for ball heads

Wow, now if Scotland gained full independance and didnt take anything from the English exchequer we might be able to afford the NHS, which is not being starved of funds it is constantly having to afford more and more expensive equipment , medicines and over staffed "management", add to that the importrd USA sue everybody culture no country in the World can afford to pay for everything people want now a days

The real reason the NHS in England and Wales is grinding to halt is that successive governments in the UK have been gradually privatising the system so their “pals” in big business can make vast profits from the sick. The fact that the UK has massive debts for a small country was not helped by being involved in an illegal war that was to do with the UK.
In Scotland, where we are fighting for independence, we manage the Scottish National Health Service, a totally separate organisation, better in spite of the fact that the Westminster Government keeps cutting the pocket money they give us while they squander the wealth from Scottish oil fields on weapons of mass destruction and bankers bonuses.
In Scotland we manage free medicine for the sick, free hospital treatment, free bus passes for the over 60s, all on the miserly “Block Grant” we are allowed by Westminster’s Tory Government.
While the members of the Westminster have just decided to give themselves an 11% pay increase the NHS nursing staffs are being allowed 1%.

I purchased a HP photosmart 8850 printer, great printer although noisy, however the ink costs are rediculous it costs me £200 for a set of inks, and thats at reduced prices of the web and often the ink is near expiry date.
Result I have had to give up printing.
So have any members experience with CISS sytems cost wise the drop is phenominal. I have loads of expensive A3+ paper and do enjoy making big prints , do you get accurate colour with profiles do you get head blocking, any other problems are you better of with refillable cartridges? advise please UK based!

This is what I ment, hope noone minds me playing with it to show what I ment, I believe it adds depth and detail to the forground trees

I'm not sure about doing any dodging in the foreground trees. It would have to be very selective or it might ruin the "mood" of the image. I looked at the darkness of the sky, but I wonder if you lighten it will it take away from the mist? I'm afraid so. I love the image as is and I would print it very carefully. I think I might try it on either cotton rag or watercolor paper.

I am not sure you would get exactly the same effect, but must admit I no longer use them just a polariser and protection filters for me Photoshop has a convert to black and white allowing you to adjust all the colours , that has the advantage of multiple filters in varying densities. But we are getting into the purist post processing arguement now , ha ha
