Go for a Sony a7ii and the Tamron 28-300
I found this "review" on Amazon and thought it would enlarge the discussion for those considering this camera. I'm not purchasing cameras for a long time so no prejudice here.
Advertised features do sound great, but others are lacking!
Sony made improvement, by adding 79 af points, bud in practice, unless you're shooting moving object, there is not much difference with A57.
1. You can't remap joystick keys or assign ANY function to them.
2. You can't use self timer in HDR mode
3. File save/read/preview speed is slower than A57
4. Video stabilization is electronic, instead of optical, as was on A57, so you're getting that "floating jelly" effect
5. ISO sensitivity is bad. Under same conditions, same lens and same settings, where A57 sets ISO 500, A77ii sets ISO2000!
6. Series photo taking is faster, but during save of burst shot, camera is "frozen", you can't even navigate in menu!
7. Flash no longer sends pulses of light to assist AF.
There are also other shortcomings, will list them later.
My personal advice - if you have other SLT series camera and willing to upgrade, DON'T DO THAT NOW. Wait, maybe better camera will be released shortly>
