For years I have restored classic cars...mostly British cars.
At the local car shows there would be concurs cars, mostly shipped to the show in large transporters.
We restorers who do all our own work and actually drive the car to the show were 'dubbed' as "Amateur restorers"
We used to explain that the only difference between an amateur and a professorial restorer was.....One gets paid!
The full sized Space Shuttle replica that was used to train Astronauts at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida is now assigned to the NASA Johnson Space center in Clear Lake (Houston) Texas.
These are photos I took this morning after it's 5 day barge trip from Florida. Taken on auto with my Sony NEX-5
Arrival at Clear Creek Channel
Going past the crowds!
Dropping by one of our favorite eateries!
I don't think that is the same moon we have
down here in Texas.
Ours is bigger!
Love it though...Moon light in Vermont
Well thanks Diet.....I will try to be more specific next time!
But nice to hear from you anyway.
Stand by for photos from the Sony NEX-5.
In just a month from now is the Lakewood, Texas annual "Wooden Keels & Classic Wheels" show. It is second only to the famous Pebble Beach classic car show. I will be a Judge there for my 3rd year.
In past years I used to show my classic cars, but now the standard is so high they actually ship cars in from all over the US, including Pebble Beach. It is strictly concurs quality cars.
One of the problems for photography is that it is hard to find a car without a crowd around it....maybe I will get there real early on Sunday after the Saturday judging.
I would like to hear from anyone who has experience with the Sony Alpha NEX-3, or 5 line of cameras.
I just bought a NEX-5 and am amazed at what you can do with it, but hearing from others would be a help.
Thanks Danilo
I just sold my 1950 MG-TD, back to the guy I bought it from 23 years ago! Last year I sold my Bentley S2 to a friend who runs a wedding car hire business. The year before that I sold my Jaguar S type.......all restored by myself. Yes I am phasing down...too old to do this stuff. My current and last restoration is a 1960 Autobianchi Bianchina Trasformable. I am told there are only 18 left in the US......the rest just rusted away!
Some photos for your interest. Peter
Bianchina. Not mine but what it will look like
Jaguar 3.8S bought from Astronaut Mike Macculley
Bentley S2...now a wedding car
I am new to Ugly Hedgehog but so happy that I found it. It is a great forum for a budding amateur photographer like me.
Although my main hobby for many years has been restoring classic cars (mostly British), I am begining to phase down and take a bigger interest in photography.
I have had many digital cameras over the years. I have just bought a Sony NEX-5 Mirror less camera, and am amazed at the things it will do.
I would like to hear from others who know and use the Sony NEX series camera.
Here is a photo I took today of a cat that visits our house. I have named her "Phantom"
