What helped me in the beginning was to turn on "highlight" and "shadow" clipping warnings in your software and move the "Blacks" and "highlight" sliders till the clipping shows, then move your shadow slider to your liking. This will help you to get started give you a good boundary to work within.

I've been using On1 2020 for several weeks now and have been using LR 6 for several years. I'm determined to use On1 more and getting used to it. As much as I hated the idea I have also subscribed to on1 plus for at least this year to speed my learning curve and find it's well worth the cost in getting me up to speed, YMMV. The DAM organizer if very similar to LR and just as good.

I suggest downloading the trial version and reviewing the many videos as well as the user guide. I find it to be comperable to LR, better at some features and fills my needs enough to move from LR 6.

I haven't used this printer but there are a lot of negative comments in the reviews on Amazon. You might want to read them.

Take a look at the Canon EF 40mm f/2.8 STM lens. I have one and find I like it's field of view better than the 50mm. Similar price range as well.

I watch a lot of Lindsay Adler classes on CreativeLive and she says tethering with LR is horrible. She has mentioned she only uses Capture One because it's so simple and reliable.

I have also used amazon photos for file sharing and have noticed the shared images are not as sharp when viewing them from the link provided by amazon but if you download the images then they are as sharp when viewed on my laptop. It's similar to downloading images from this site (UHH) ... images are sharper after downloading them.

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming laptop. It comes with 16G of memory, fast cpu and good graphics card. Cost $800 when I bought it and has been very reliable. I also hang an acer 27" ips 1440p monitor off of it for post processing.
