I just started to research adapters and I've read that those with optical element (allowing infinity focus) can degrade image. Recommendations are appreciated. Thank you.
I haven't decided if I want to sell it yet. I would at least like to try the lens with an adapter on my D300s first just to see what it can do. The 58mm focal length is not what I commonly use. Thank you.
I was going through my father's old stuff and came across this lens which he avoided using (too heavy). It is in mint condition. No other identifying marks (except serial number and "made in Japan" ) are on the front ring. What is this lens worth? I am a Nikon D300s user, so I don't think I can use it. Thank you.

If you plan on going to southern California, try the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley. Politics aside, it is one of the nicest libraries of its kind. Has Air Force 1, and his motorcade on exhibit. Also, check out the San Francisco topic that is floating around in this forum.
You might just decide to stay for good. Then you'll have a life time to enjoy.
Any significant write latency when using this device? On my Nikon D300s, I've set the CF slot to be the backup so images are written to both the SD and CF cards. Thanks.
Be ready for the different life styles in SF. Monterey has the Bay Aquarium, Cannery Row, Point Lobos and the 17 Mile scenic drive (see world famous Cypress tree). Carmel you have the Peeble Beach Golf course, the quaint town itself. Further north is Napa Valley (for wine tasting) which is a whole day trip by itself. You have to spend more time in the area!
I was born and raised in SF. So many photo ops there. Go out to Aquatic Park there's a cable car turn-around there for shots of the cars. There's Chinatown for neat architecture. Try going to a Giants ball game if they're in town. If you go across the Golden Gate Bridge, there is the Marin Headlands and further north is the Point Reyes National Sea Shore. Can go on and on and....

I wonder if any of the products on that ship were made in America!
I hear it is enroute to China.
I don't rely on sales people any more for product information. Instead, I try to do my homework first and then I price shop. I bought my Nikon D300s at BB but only after talking to district manager to approve the price since the day after I called the store to make sure they had it in-stock and whether or not to pay online or in-store the price increased by $200.

Thanks for the larger pix. Man, that ship is huge! I wonder how it compares to our largest aircraft carrier?
This ship is a bit over 1200 ft. It is so large that it had to wait until low tide to sail in and out of the Bay to clear the bridges. There are other container ships that are even bigger. Largest aircraft carriers are a bit over 1000 ft. I've been on the U.S.S. Carl Vinson and that was a big ship.
Description on picture #5 should be for #6. Still trying to figure out all the nuances for downloading info.

2 things: They need straightening. Duh. But what would really be neat is if you reload them and click on "store original". We can see them much larger this way. They are too cool to be shown this small.
Okay, I was trying to following rules for downloading pics.
Check out my shots in Photo Gallery under "Super container ship...". Thanks.
