Downloading Canon EOS RP into lightroom

My .cr3 files load without any problems I did need to do the update on my creative cloud subscription. I must have somehow missed the notice to do it when it came out.

It's Here! Updated today and was surprised that the raw files were now readable in Lightroom.

Yes - they use the same RAW format - (CR3) - and as I stated earlier I am having no issues whatsoever importing to Lightroom.
I do not import from the camera I use my card reader. Not sure if that my be your issue???.
