We have been there several times for 3 day trips. Not sure if you are in a tent, trailer or need a room. We have been on the east side every time and stayed at the smaller St. Mary’s campground just as you start up the going to the sun road, it’s our favorite spot. Driving distance to both Two Medicine and Many Glacier. Do one each day and there’s your three days. Just remember you can’t do everything so when you are done you will want to start thinking about your next trip😀. It’s a great place. Also Many Glacier does not allow tents or soft sided trailers, but that time of year there should be decent parking. A ton of easy trails so do some research and plan them before you go. Enjoy, it’s one of our favorites.

One more thing, the smaller St Mary campground does not take reservations, first come basis. We stay the night before at the Koa just outside the entrance, then we will go in early and there will usually be several sites open up. Everything usually fills up by 9 - 10 am.

Be aware, the road in & out of "Many" is horrible. It w/beat the crap out of your suspension so try to take the Red Bus Tour for that one.

We stayed in our fifth wheel for a week in West Glacier, a week in East Glacier, and a week in Wolverton. All three weeks were too short. Probably the most photo ops in East Glacier area if you can find a campground.

You might want to consider Essex Montana to stay; a great lodge from historical times or multiple cabooses also ; very nice and different. From there its 35 - 40 miles north to Glacier entrance. You also can extend your trip another 35-40 miles north to Pole bridge very interesting place and from there multiple lakes can be visited. Bowman Lake offers campground day hike up lake to a mountain lookout. So much to do and see and so little time.

kallispell, whitefish ,polebridge, hungry horse. All kinds of places to use as jumping off spots.not to mention the lodges within the park. lot's of beautiful place out side of the park. Hungryhorse reservour, bob marshal wilderness. I know your going to the park, but you will be so enamored with the surrounding areas, you will want to come back and experience some of the less touresty places. Lived up in the flathead area back in the late 70's. From kallispell you can move out in any direction and be awed by something. Have fun. you are on your way to the poor mans alaska. the views are stunning. Would like to get back there again myself some day.

Hire an RV and stay right by the park’s east and west entrances.

Could use some help planning 3days in Glacier NP. where to stay to have quick access. ?

We went there in 2011 and stayed at the Hidden Moose Lodge in Whitefish, a very nice place. We drove the Going to the Sun Road on July 16 and Logan Pass had only been open 5 days at that date. If you can, I highly recommend taking the cruise on Waterton Lake. Waterton Lakes and Glacier National Parks are joined together, with Waterton in Canada. We made a loop north and then east from Whitefish over Crowsnest Pass then south to Waterton. The cruise crosses the border into Glacier where you get off to await your return boat. You can take some time to hike or just a few minutes and get on the next boat. We then drove south and had lunch in Babb MT and then drove back to Whitefish via the Going to the Sun Road. It's 216 miles to Waterton and then 132 from there to Whitefish. It was a great day! Note that you will need your passport. There is a beautiful hotel overlooking Waterton Lake, the Prince of Wales. The next day we drove to Portland via the Columbia River Gorge and then back to the Bay Area the next day. Next time we plan to spend more time in Glacier and probably stay at the Many Glacier Hotel.
