Anywhere between Columbia Falls MT to West Glacier on the west side, various hotels all along Hwy 2. When do you plan on coming?

macthemac: I spend a great deal of time in Glacier, however I camp in a fifth wheel trailer. There a numerous hotel and motels on the West side of the Park. Some facilities are available within the Park. More are available just outside of the Park at West Glacier.
On the East side the choices are more limited. Only a couple of choices unless you are camping out. A search of the internet will give you a selection of different levels of accommodations available. Be sure to make your reservations as early as possible. The number of visitors grows each year, it is a very busy park.
It's a beautiful place and the photographic opportunities are boundless. ENJOY!! stinger

We were up there last fall...On the east side the only place we could find was in Browning ( 20 miles away ).
In the park we couldnt get anything..on the west side we stayed at a nice place right outside the entrance..
As noted, there are some choices on that side but I thk reservations are likely important.
Depends a little on when you plan to be there. It is a terrific park.

We stayed at the Many Glacier Hotel which, for location, is hard to beat and also hard to get a reservation and not cheap. But that location is breathtaking. Better book early.

With only three days, I think you'll want to stay in the park. I've stayed at all three and recommending the order depending on availability: 1. Many Glacier Lodge 2. East Glacier Lodge 3. Lake McDonald Lodge
Many Glacier is in a spectacular location. If you plan to drive around and see the sites, e.g. Going to the Sun Road, etc. you'll enjoy any of them.

That's when we went last year. Not super crowded but not empty either. The Many Glacier Hotel was full. Parts of the park were closed because of forest fires but still had a great time. Take the Red Bus tour if you can.

Agree, the Red Bus Tours are great. So are the boat tours in classic old boats.

I live in East Glacier Park. There are so many options on The Eastside that it would be terrible to NOT take advantage of the many opportunities here. The west side of the Park is crazy busy so kind of stressful, IMO. As already mentioned, Glacier Pk Lodge, Many, & Rising Sun are very good & very popular so book early. There are smaller motels & hostels available as well as campgrounds. Traveling hwy # 89 along the eastern front of the mountains from EGP to St Mary offers breathtaking views. A side trip to Two Medicine Lake should not be missed. You can access Going To the Sun road from St. Mary on the east side of the Park & then visit the western venues. Oh, a visit to Chief Mountain should be part of your trip as well. It is on the way to the Chief Mtn border crossing into Canada in case you'd like to add Waterton Park to your itinerary. Enjoy!

If you get a map of the area, you'll see that all of these eastside sites are fairly close together so doable in a day or two.

We stayed on the east side near the junction of Hwy 2 and Rt 49. Granted, it's farther from the park, but it's closer to St. Mary Lake and Two Medicine Lake (where I wanted to be and to shoot), distance you'd otherwise have to cover either inside the park or on Hwy 2 if coming from the west side. Study up on what park features/trails/etc. interest you the most and then make your decision.

Went there last May. The Going to the Sun road was still closed. Messed it by one week.
Took the Red Bus Tour which was great. It showed us most of the sites and we spent the rest of the time back tracking on the sites we wanted more time with. Enjoy. 📸

I did 4 days there via an AMTRAK tour. The red bus tours are a must! If you're interested, my pictures of that park are here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/8712554@N02/collections/72157635037593408/ (you can ignore the Chicago and Seattle albums).

We have been there several times for 3 day trips. Not sure if you are in a tent, trailer or need a room. We have been on the east side every time and stayed at the smaller St. Mary’s campground just as you start up the going to the sun road, it’s our favorite spot. Driving distance to both Two Medicine and Many Glacier. Do one each day and there’s your three days. Just remember you can’t do everything so when you are done you will want to start thinking about your next trip😀. It’s a great place. Also Many Glacier does not allow tents or soft sided trailers, but that time of year there should be decent parking. A ton of easy trails so do some research and plan them before you go. Enjoy, it’s one of our favorites.
