Ditto for me as well. I’ll be 66 in a few weeks.

I am a student of the Art of Photography. I have been leaning my whole life. I am an amateur and thus I have not learned as fast as if I was a professional. Im am 64 years of age and Photography is still a great creative passion for me. Increasingly so. I am grateful for that. I will continue to learn.

Ditto, except I am 69. I’m hoping that by actively and continuously learning that Alzheimer’s will stay away!

I retired last a year ago pushing 70 and having worked my entire life it was quite a change for me. Winter had set in as well as a feeling of being adrift. As spring started to break, I took the camera outside and discovered a world that I had not known before of macro photography and it truly changed my life. I hunt for subjects whenever weather permits and I shoot now indoors and out year round.

I too, have a love for photography.

Macro is my next quest now that I am fully retired!

Yes, the point is that a love of photography, or anything else, can keep you physically and mentally active which will help keep you young. It just so happens that this time the subject is photography. Also, we "old codgers", I am one at almost 72, like to brag a little bit now and then about what we can still do. A bit different than the complaining of how tired the younger generations seem to be.

Well said! I can't imagine anyone not getting the point of this.

Wow! I didn't realize how old so many of us are! I'm 73, and have just started becoming enthusiastic about photography again, after a 60-year hiatus. I took photography as an elective in junior high school, and learned on an Argus C3, including developing film and making enlargements in our school darkroom. Those were the days!

Hi, Via the Lens. Well, I guess all of us who have posted enjoy a chance to "give our testimony" and sound off about a subject we love to talk about. Your objection, however, did make me think. How can the younger, more up-to-date members of his forum help us? While this topic doesn't have a particular question for you, we all probably would enjoy any helpful thoughts you might have about getting back into photography as a hobby. There are so many new improvements and possibilities that it all is a bit bewildering for us. Just know that, as you participate in other threads, we all are following along and appreciate your experience and wisdom!

I am 73 and am taking a course in journalism and hope to become a photo journalist, been photographing for more than 30 years and it seems a good idea for an old-timer. Good luck and enjoy

The story goes..

Instead of being born with a silver spoon I was born with a silver camera, A minox spy camera as this was my first camera. That's 60 years worth of different cameras. Only thing I'll confess about learning, is learn the quarks of each new camera there after. new to this forum.. Yes, New to the camera world.. Hardly.
