So far disappointing! I have had all versions up till now with really minor issues. Now after installation I choose to upload my pics from photos and 12 uploaded out of 60,600..... Then ok, so maybe I did something wrong...So I open a picture only to have the app freeze. Once I was able to get it up and running it is very slow. Having the side window open when editing is a bad idea being every time I move the mouse the wrong way a different pic appears while I am editing another and what is happening here... Learning curve, maybe but the slowness is is not acceptable. I have a fast 27" 2TB iMac 3.3 GHz i5 8BG with Mojave and after checking to make sure it was not at fault and that I have space so forth so on, I'm convinced, its the program. I have sent an email out to customer service regarding said issues and hope they get back to me. Ugh! I was really looking forward to this update too.

I just downloaded and installed it. The welcome screen popped up off the top left corner of my 2nd display...I can only see the corner of the window, and of course, can't move it. So much for first impressions!

So I got the window back by unplugging my 2nd monitor and clicked through the screens to "creating image gallery". That was 45 minutes ago, and I'm still at 0%. It's using some processor and disk resources, so I'll let it run a while longer to see what happens. I sure hope it's not building some sort of gigantic catalog on my boot/application drive....

This seems very odd to me. Folks with similar systems, Mac or windows, some are doing well with the new version some doing horribly.....I don’t understand it but I am going to hold off down loading for now. Might decide to see if I can use Luminar 2018, which I own and like, as a plug-in for Elements 10, That has a library, which I also already own.....and sort of like, but not so much...until they get the Buggs sorted out. I think not getting in a hurry right now might be a good decision.

I haven't been able to download it yet, long story. Suffice to say my computer system is in storage due to new home construction. I was wondering if you are able to download only the library section with out upgrading to Luminar 3. I have 2018 and it runs great on my 3 yr old Windows machine.

I downloaded Lumar 3 yesterday - Took some time to load my photo files - problem is the imports default for picture files is by date - They don't tell you, you have to select by folder name. I don't know about you, but with almost 200 K pictures - I don't have the memory capacity to remember the year & date of each picture I have taken. I look forward to their response to my question about how to correct the problem.

I upgraded to Luminar 3 and it opens flawlessly. It is installed in an iMac and, while I have a lot to learn, especially with the catalog/file library, I think it will flow pretty much like 2018 as far as processing. I hope you can get it working on your computer.

I installed it with no problem and exported a photo from LR to process some more but when I finished with it and tried to apply and return it to LR, it never showed up. The image went somewhere but I have no idea where.

The day before yesterday I had many crash issues on my 2013 iMac. Yesterday I had no issues. Not sure what changed but it may have been the folder name issue mentioned in an earlier post.

This version seems a little bit slower but I have an older Mac which may be a factor.

The good news is that when I returned to my computer, the catalog had actually been built. I don't know how long it took, but I was away for a few hours. I played with it a bit, and, watched the walk through video, and I believe it has promise. After messing about with a few photos, the thumbnail for the photo I was editing started going blank. Then it wouldn't load another photo, and finally, it locked up. I tried killing it in the Windows task manager and reloading it, but it just came up blank, so I dropped it for the night. This morning, I loaded it, same thing, blank. I noticed that again, it was using a little bit of CPU and let it go. After about 15-20 minutes, thumbnails started appearing on the screen, but it never "caught up" to a point that I could navigate the catalog before locking up again (menus unresponsive, no cpu usage). I wonder if I created smaller catalogs, perhaps one per year, if it would become more responsive, but can't get it to stay alive long enough to try it. I DO hope they get it working. I would like to use it alongside Lightroom, though I don't see it ever replacing that tool.

I opened it up again about 25 minutes ago, and am going to let it do it's thing for awhile without trying to interact with it. Maybe it'll catch up to whatever it's trying to do if I leave it alone!

After having a bust on my home machine, on a I whim I just installed a trial copy on my office machine. Installed easily and opened as expected. I don't have many raw file photos on this machine but I was able to add folders and open the files. I like the layout and the basic functions were easy to locate and I was able to do some simple edits. Didn't spend a lot of time but it confirms for me that the program works and is worthy of some more investigation. As to my home machine debacle, I think I'll wait for the dust to clear at the support department and see what they have to say.

Happy shooting and peaceful holidays.

I am using Luminar 3 with the libraries on a 2012 MacBook Pro (9,1) with High Sierra, 16Gb, i7 and an SSD internal drive. Love it. Works well. I set the view images to the date and time the photo was taken (default). When set on "all photos" I can scroll thru and visually see all of the duplicates. I would select the one I wanted to keep, move it to an appropriate folder*, and delete the rest. Really nice.

I hope the bugs are worked out for all of you having problems. /Stan Gould
