Now is a really good time, as you probably have found at the good sites in Los Angeles. Bolsa Chica has a wide range of water birds plus migrants and raptors. Other OC places with good opportunities include Huntington Beach Central Park, and the San Joaquin Marsh near UC Irvine. There are other decent locations, including Irvine Regional Park, Mile Square Park, Newport Back Bay, and Crystal Cove, but in MY experience, the first three are usually the most productive...meaning accessible with lots of species. Come down any time. Let me know if you do...maybe we could meet up somewhere.
