Thanks Dick,
I dunno off hand, but Deep Space.
It is part of a Super Nova Remnant.
They're awesome shots, thanks!!
The remnant is from an explosion of a star estimated to be about 20x of the Sun. The distance is unknown, but estimated at ~1,500 light years. The size of the remnant is ~77 light years and, if you could see it, would be about the diameter of 6 full moons.

Thanks Brian!
All I can say is it was probably a bad day in the neighborhood when it blew.

I'll bet it was the highlight of their day!!

I’m hoping to have my first LRGB image this weekend of the witch’s broom. Not sure how well it’ll come out. I’m finding things are quite different from shooting in color. I’m recapturing some red tonight. I’ve been working on it for a few weeks, I’m kinda betting it’ll look like garbage when it’s done, but who knows.

Garbage? From you?
I'd highly doubt that!
Which telescope (s) are you using for your Deep Space ventures?
I'm lazy. I prefer my color cameras because with the matrix inside the camera, I can't mess up the way the camera is seeing the image.
Then if I want something different, I can put a filter into the view, like an Ha7nm Craig told me about.
But the color matrix is always the same when it's built into the camera. (And the focus is too.)
I'll be watching curbside to see what kind of "garbage" you have....

I bet that is a question we will never know an answer to....
But I am pretty sure that we are not alone in this Universe.

Yeah, Pricey is the right word...
I'll look into it.
Have a run to South Pasadena to do.
I'll get back to this.

I always enjoy shooting these to try and get good images.
I've been having intermittant problems and last night substituted another USB cable and it fixed part of the problem.
Then my Atik Infinity shown some non-functioning problems I finally nailed down to my power supply connections.
After those corrections, finally smooth sailing again.
I can't help but wonder what worlds might have perished in the remnants of these final Supernova's...
(I also wonder what fidgiter is renaming these, and why. Veil > Network (?))
Here's the fruits of the evening:

Your work has come a very long way Sonny.
Great job.

Thank You Craig. It is really good to see you again My Friend!
I've been busier than a cat covering up poop on a tin roof since July.
So I grab some when I have a clear evening and nothing looming in the morning.
I've been doing driving and deliveries of trailers for my Son In Law's business.
So a lot of the stars have to align for me in order to play.
And then, I've kind of plateaued in my results.
But still, even in a brief moment, I like to look up and enjoy seeing things I recognize.
Orion is taunting me again, coming into view around 11 PM currently.
I look up, smile, and remember how Orion dragged me in...

It's catch-as-catch-can for me lately.
Yesterday was another "Frantic Friday". Lots of trips, lots of miles, LOTS of traffic.
In bed by 9 PM, pooped.
It's a shame to miss the clear nights we've been having.
Very nice Sonny. Beautiful images! Would have been "cool" to see the supernova go off...with sunglasses from a distance
The "fidgiter" renaming the Veil probably also works for the American Ornithological Society when not making mucking up the astro landscape. They just love renaming birds seemingly according to the latest flavor of the moment.

Thank You John!
Having never seen a Super Nova, I'm not sure about actually seeing one.
But these eon's afterwords, if things are still moving (and no reason to doubt they aren't) their nice to look at and take pictures of.
I suppose we should be happy they aren't renaming them in Latin.
