This is a popular six-mile scenic drive into the small hamlet of Marble. Beautiful white marble is quarried near this location and is for sale in almost any amount desired. We took this side trip on a Sunday as did most of the world's population! On the drive in, a small black bear crossed the road in front of us and was gone before I could get to my camera. A few photos to show the beauty of the area.

Beautiful scenery, perfectly photographed.
I went to Outward Bound, the first one in the US, in 1965, near Marble. Beautiful area.

Thanks, Jim...appreciate you stopping by!!
I was there many years ago during their annual marble carving festival. Really a beautiful area and the quarry is fascinating also.

The mountain in the first pic is Chair Mountain and the road going up is McClure Pass.
Great shots. Looks like you got there at the right time for the foliage. The San Juans have been great, especially the Telluride side. Come through if you are in the area. This weekend will be it though.

Thanks for the mtn. ID alberio, had no idea of its name. Did know that Hwy. 133 was called McClure Pass...we took it took County Rd. 12 and then up and over Kebler Pass and down to Crested Butte...gorgeous colors and drive!!
