I want to use the wifi features on my D7200 but I can't find an app for my Android phone that will sync with the camera. Any suggestions for finding an app and any experienced advice on using wifi features of the D7200 will be appreciated.

Go to Play Store on your phone and install apt Nikon WMU.

I'm still asking for help. There are apparently some major differences between syncing to an iPhone vs an Android device. I tried Goggle but it seems that they believe all photographers use iPhones. Is there anyone in UHH land who (a) uses a Nikon 7200 (b) uses an Android cell phone and (c) has had success linking his/her cellphone to their D7200?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5, and D7200, Go to Play Store and install Nikon WMU. works great.

Yes to all and many other sources as well. One thing I do understand is that that there is absolutely NO CORRELATION between how syncing is done between iphone/d7200 or Cannon and any smart device.

When you install Nikon WMU on phone then you have to turn Nikon Wifi on instead of your reg Wifi. Take camera and go to Wifi on or off, turn on.
Thats it. Good luck.

I tried it with NFC on and off. The Kindle was connected to the Nikon. Using WPS the camera gives 2 minutes to connect. It took about 20 seconds. I tried it several times after first deleting Nikon from the list. The results were the same each time.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I don't really need this to work, but I hate leaving things undone.

You must turn Wifi on to Nikon Wifi on Phone or Tablet. Just go to Wifi settings if you have installed Nikon WMU it will come up.

NFC has nothing to do with it.

Was your NFC on? And your Kindle was connected to the Nikon in the setup under wifi?

I turned everything off and went to bed. This morning, over coffee, I turned both on and everything works.

Thanks for your help.

The Nikon WiFi function creates what is termed a "peer to peer" network connection - that is, the camera communicates with the phone/tablet directly, not through a WiFi network such as might be in your home.

Mcmama is correct. Go to Google playstore and find the app and download it.Turn on the 7200 wifi, search your phone's connections and select the Nikon wifi. In the camera wifi menu, select the photos to send to the phone. Go back thhe app and select view photos on the device. Read the manual. It works beautifully.

I use Camera Connect and Control to connect to my phone.

Turn on Wifi on the Phone, make sure your phone sees connects to the camera via the OS settings. Open the app, it will search and connect to you photos. It's not the smoothest, but wifi isn't the D7200's strong suit.

I used the Nikon (WMU) app to change the properties of the 'default' network that came with the camera. The default (192.168.0.0/192.168.0.1) network is the same default network that is set up everywhere. If you are trying to get this to work in any area where a 'default' network is your set up will not work at all. Most home routers start with this same network. I changed my 'camera' network to something that will not conflict with my home network, or used somewhere else.
I used the app to change my network properties in the camera and then removed it. There are some odd properties of the app, like it needs to run all the time. In my case, that wasn't good. I use the wireless to connect to a Galaxy Tab S3 and use Helicon Remote. Works great.

Thank you, and thank all of you who tried to help. I moved the camera out of range of my home wifi and everything works fine. Weird!!!

Its WiFi, why are you looking for an app?

I believe the WiFi features can only be used with an app.

Not weird at all. When in range of your home router the phone will default to that network. In this situation you need to follow the procedure that many have already told you. You must go into the phone's wifi and select the Nikon WiFi network.
