Now is your EM1-MKII still under warranty? Buy another one in NY as I think you get the best price there and I think price is better than in Australia. When you got back and have your camera fixed you may want to sell it and the true cost may not be all that much. Having a camera fixed in 4 days (unless you have professional status and get pro treatment) is next to impossible. If you give the camera to a shop and they say the can do it but then when you come back they have your camera in pieces and need some more time what are you going to do?

Good idea, and I believe the import duties for bringing home a now used camera would be different than buying from overseas back at home.

I used https://phototech.com/ a couple of years ago to repair a Fuji lens. They took a while because their technician was away. In the end they replaced the lens for the price they had quoted for the repair.

I’ve used Photo Tech Repair for many years and if you call B+H that’s who they’d recommend. They are around 36st and 9th av. Google them.

Let Google be your friend, I found at least 4 camera repair stores in NYC, even Bing had some recommendations.. ....however and as others have said, I'd call B&H for some recommendations especially if you have an idea of what is wrong with it.

The best camera repair place hands down in NYC is Photo Tech 360 W36th in Manhattan. They bought Chrysler which I used for years. B&H doesn't do camera repairs. I am an Oly shooter and a life long NYC resident. I know from experience that your problem is likely to be that there are no Olympus authorized repair places and you will have to send them your camera. Photo Tech will fix it if it can.

I have, very infrequently, had similar problems with older Oly 4/3 cameras. Sometimes taking out battery, changing battery and/or card or drying out if it got wet works.

FYI I always carry a second backup body for this very reason. With the 4/3rds system that's easier/lighter. B&H or Adorama are right there. MPH is a highly regarded place to buy used equipment and is in Manhattan too.

Hope this helps. Good Luck!

Olympus has a drop off center in Hackensack , NJ about 14mi outside of Manhattan. The following is from their web site.

Quick Repair Drop-off Program
OLYMPUS AMERICA INC. is committed to ensuring that our Consumer Products perform superbly. We are also committed to our customers’ total satisfaction.

I too would recommend stopping at B&h. If anyone knows the city, they do. If it came to that, they have a section that purchases used equipment. They would also have new ones on hand. More importantly enjoy your holiday and stay safe.

As I said above, I agree Photo Tech is the best camera repair in NYC. They are authorized repair depots for Nikon and Canon, but unfortunately not for Olympus. If it's simple Photo Tech will repair and quick, otherwise you need to being or send camera to Olympus. Someone above gave you all the info about their nearby NJ facility.
