The administration didn’t kill you, Congress did. They enacted laws that allowed big business to offshore jobs to countries willing to automate tasks that were labor intensive here... those jobs are forever lost to automation.

Offshoring was done in the name of improved corporate profits. Clinton benefitted as a booming economy began to enjoy improved profits.. but that was the beginning of off-shoring. Banks lent money based on a booming economy and a hot real estate market resulted. The crash occurred when reality struck and our Treasury Secretary, Munchin profited on the pain of homeowners who lost their homes.... he bought mortgages for pennies on the dollar. Get past the emotion and recognize the harsh realities.

4% was another classic manipulation. Look at labor participation. Those who fell off the unemployment system were not counted. The stock market is up more in one year than the prevoius 8. Look at the DOW charts. Look at the approx 40% drop in 2009. GDP was historically abysmal.

I fear you cannot because you see today’s results and not the steps that were taken to make them happen. Within a term a president cannot make the economy better; he can only set the stage for long-term improvement. However, he can make it crash immediately by causing wars be they political, trade based, or military.... so many ways to go immediately wrong. So few to go long term correctly.

Glenn is understandably angry; both you and I would be if all of our efforts of 40 years were blown away in a short span of time. I empathize for his pain even though I feel he doesn’t see the entire picture.

Its an effect that is so massive i cant imagine anyone not recognizing it. US biz certainly does. You expose an extreme lack of real world experience in manufacturing.

If you are addressing my comments, it is likely you are underestimating my perspective. I was tasked with establishing and managing a Fortune 500 internal consulting group for a major soft drink organization that included the manufacturing and distribution of popular soft drinks. The 52 locations, of which 22 we bottling facilities, produced in excess of 100 million cases of product. I am not unaware of the challenges facing M&D corporations.

The current regulatory changes are short sighted. Trump would have fared much better had he implemented a plan like Nixon’s “Investment Tax Credit”. That provided a far better profit incentive for major investment in domestic corporate production improvements.
