You can add a three legged base to a monopod. Amazon has several. They can also be used for a mini tripod.

I have a ProMaster MPV432+ convertible monopod that has three little legs on it for stability and they are removable if not needed. It is no carbon fiber, but it is light and stable, and it handles my FF and 70-200 f2.8. https://www.promaster.com/

ZoMei makes several tripods that are also mono pods in that you can remove one of the legs and attach the head to it. Reasonably priced and fairly sturdy.

Hello everyone,

I’m looking for a decent Carbon Fiber Monopod for my Nikon D750. I would like to be able to interchange the foot to 3 legs. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Great tripod - very reasonable - extremely stable - TC2534 Carbon Tripod from K&F Concepts. I have had one for quite a while and no issues. I lost one of the rubber feet and contacted their customer service to purchase a replacement part. Figured I would buy 3 of them just to have spares. The customer service person said there was no need to purchase and a week later had 3 replacement feet delivered to my door. Great tripod and even better customer service !

I do not recommend monopods with the 3 tiny leg thingies.....

My recommendation is for a monopod that collapses small - like the Manfro MMCOMPACTADV-BK that goes to 16.3 inches - why? because it is much more versatile indifferent situations.

I do also recommend a PVC "T" on the foot to help stabilize. You cannot buy the "T" - you have to make and adapt it.

Slik CF-544 and CF-422. I have the CF-422. Less than 15" long collapsed and less than 3 lbs.

My ball head lives on my monopod. Perfect place for it. I don't understand your comment.

Most people do not like conventional ball heads on a monopod - especially trying to track a moving subject.......pan/tilt or tilt only are generally preferred - I like to use a video fluid head.

Your right that I got mixed up. The Slik CF-522 (not 544) is under 3 pounds and under 15" collapsed and the CF-422 is under 3 pounds and under 19" collapsed. The CF-422 won an innovation award.

I'm another that does not care for the 3 little "feet that can be attached to the base of many monopods. I have an old Miida aluminum monopod from the 70's that has that feature I used to stand on the "feet" in order to give the monopod more stability. Never would I put a camera on it unattended. It's not meant for that. You can find those "feet" sold on eBay among other places.
