The pick-nick table leaning against the tree says," Closed for the winter." I like the picture.

Thanks Birder... :) Yes. "Closed For Winter" should be the title of this...

We can never tell how others view our work, I have given up trying.

This has a oldtime charm to it that maybe many can relate back too, long before computer games.

Good luck Randy, you have done well so far, who knows where it will end

Thank you Simon.. :) I usually have my Wife select from multiple shots of the same subject, but when I have just a single shot I leave it up to the viewers.. I know I have my share of duds out there, but I hope I make up for them on occasion... :)

While I am again honored, I certainly do not feel this image should have made it this far compared to the other entries I had seen in this competition, it was the only swing image I had, so I entered... There were 1200 entries for this contest and 30 Finalists.. May the best image win, but I would like some honest feedback on this because this is one I almost removed from my online gallery.. It goes to show that we do not view our own work as others do..

I looked at the other photos. Some are better than others, and yours is wonderful with all the fine detail, mood, and composition.

I think it's really good, Randy, and love the B&W. I looked at all the pictures and besides yours, the one that stuck in my mind was the little girl swinging high as the airplane in the sky! :)

I actually saw three photos that I really liked yours being one. the other black and white photo with the swing that could hold a few people. And the wall Muriel with the two children standing. I like yours because the way it was made up the tire hanging from the tree the pallet all the branches without leaves and the choice you made of using color or black and white. I don't think a color photo would've had that dramatic affect. And as far as the tire I could see kids standing on it and swinging in as well.

Are you kidding me? This photo is absolutely phenomenal and I would be ecstatic to call it mine! The multiple shades in this simply draw the viewer into the depths of it and the longer you stare at it the further you go and the harder it is to pull yourself out.

This is one of those pictures that is eerily beautiful. I simply couldn't look away, but I find the dark to be absolutely beautiful and really get upset when people look at things black and white. Some people like sunny days and some people like cloudy days, but all weather people say, "Tomorrow it's going to be a lovely day with the sun shining and temperatures in the 80s." I happen to love cloudy weather and hate temperatures over 70; I love the freezing cold.

You need to love this picture as much as everyone else obviously did; or at least try to see why they did and appreciate the fact that they did.
