While I am again honored, I certainly do not feel this image should have made it this far compared to the other entries I had seen in this competition, it was the only swing image I had, so I entered... There were 1200 entries for this contest and 30 Finalists.. May the best image win, but I would like some honest feedback on this because this is one I almost removed from my online gallery.. It goes to show that we do not view our own work as others do..

The shot has an old time feel. It also has a mystery to it. The tree the swing the pallet leaning next to the tree add to the mystique. As always you have a good eye for shots and making art out of them. Maybe a photo isnt just judged on visual but with the other senses as well.

First of all, Congratulations! Second, I can't pinpoint why I love it so much, but I do! Your image takes me back to my youth at my grandparents house in the country. Overgrown with weeeds, old trees and a lot of brush. Your image evokes long lost good memories. Yes, there are other good images, but yours has a feel good look! Good composition and great editing! :-D

I checked out the other finalists and feel that your shot is more than worthy of being in the top 30. Congratulations.

Several of those entries evoke emotion,Travesty. Several are unusual in their compositions. All are artistically rendered. I can see a few flaws in a few images.
Yours is a story. The empty tire swing hangs motionless, the picnic table & bench are toppled and strewn about; the brambles and dried foliage has overtaken the setting. there is a lot in this image,Randy.

Wow! Thank all of you so much for the comments and compliments!

I really am having a hard time with this though. I sincerely do not see what everyone may be seeing in this image or if I did when I took it is was subconscious... Thanks again for all of the support and comments. But, if this does win I don't think I will ever feel right about it... :(

My thoughts exactly - moodiness, 'old time' feeling and mysterious. It's great!

I like the sharpness and detail, It tells a story, How many special times have been spent right there on that spot. Doesn't look very inviting right now, but when the place is in bloom I bet it is beautiful. Congratulations

Thanks Tom!.... Actually when in bloom this spot is not even visible, so unless I were to trespass this is it... :) Thanks again so much...
