Fotocare in nyc is a reputable dealer. They have a lot of items to rent including lighting.

Like others, I’ve had nothing but pleasing success with LensRentals. Reasonable fees, FedEx shipping, occasional out of the blue discounts, referral discounts all make for good experiences. I have local rental options in the Denver area but their fees don’t deserve consideration unless I’m desperate.

Lens Rentals appears to have a much larger selection of gear than Borrow Lenses does, namely newer gear just released. Pricing is similar.

If you are in Southern California - Sammy's has a great rental dept with better prices than online because of no shipping

I like both BorrowLenses and LensRentals, although I get better incentives with Borrow. Have a mirrorless coming this week, just to see how I like it.

looked at all three of the rental companies mentioned.
LensProyo Go did not carry the Sony RX10M4 that I was looking for. At least, I didn't see unless I missed it.

Borrow Lenses did have the camera but it had a reserved date on it until April 2. I don't need it until May so they may be a possibility. That would suggest they only have the one camera.

Battery yes, memory card no.

LenRental has great customer service. I've rented from them several times now. The last time I rented a lens and it failed after I received it. Thankfully it arrived early enough where LensRental overnighted a replacement immediately. I can't complain. My only criticism would be their selling prices of rental equipment tends to be a bit high.

I always use Helix when it was in Chicago, a train ride then a taxi to get there. Now they are in Itasca and I have no clue how to get there. A local pro may know a good place.

I am interested in the Sony RX10M4 but would like to rent it first before paying the high price. I have never rented a camera before and was wondering if anyone can provide reputable companies and any things to be aware of for a first time renter. Thanks for any input.

I rented that camera from BorrowLenses for a week, wish I had rented for a longer time period. The rental was less than 10% than the price new, so for me it was a worthwhile investment. I have the RX10m3 and was interested in the newer focussing system.

I have also used LensRental but not as much as BorrowLenses.

My first rental experience was last summer using www.lensrentals.com with an a77ii and a 70-400g2. Everything was packed to protect it from a nuclear blast (OK I'm exaggerating) and was at the Fed-Ex when they said it would. totally satisfied. They also give you a discount on your first rental :) - oh, mention a nice UHH'er like me when you order and I might get a credit on my next rental, too :)
