Thanks Barbie, we were there just after (7 months) the EPA polluted the Animas River and some damage was still evident

Beautiful! We did the trip on our honeymoon in June 1971 and it's on our "to go back to" list. If you go, you should also drive U.S. 550 (the Million Dollar Highway) from Durango to at least Ouray.
