As others have said, as long as it is sealed, it should be fine. If you have some issues, first try GENTLY cleaning the contacts with an eraser as they can get a thin film on them that affects conductivity.
If it did go through the wash, at least you know all you photos should be "clean" (sorry for the horrible pun)

is it trash and if not, would you trust it? The good news is there were not any pics on it.

SC cards have been submerged in lakes for years. When found, they were dried out and the data was still good. My guess is that it will work. On the other hand, I would not take a chance and continue to use it. The cost of even high end flash memory is very low compared to the value of the data/photos you put on them.

Never an eraser or anything abrasive on the contacts as the gold plating is only microns thick. Use isopropyl alcohol on a Q-tip and dry completely before inserting it into a device.

I think I was making assumptions as I read this thread. The assumption was that there were shots on the card you wanted to retrieve. That is most likely possible. However, I would never put it in my camera again.

Exactly. Whether you CAN still use it is one thing, Whether you SHOULD still use it is something else again.

It'll be fine. I dropped one in a cup of coffee last year then used a hair dryer on it. It's still working great.

Regular or Decaf?

Hope your machine hasn't got a format programme!

In some circles, money laubering is a preferred activity. Not so sure card laundering will really ever catch on!
Is this something you do often are are you just starting out??!!
SS

How else do you launder your Bitcoin ill-gotten gains?

Did the stains come out? Did the cover fade? Hope it smells all spring like.

Have washed and dried one 3 times, still works, still use it every day. They are a sealed unit. A friend of mine found a camera in the ocean in Florida that had a card in it, camera was turned off when it was found and it had been in the water for some time. Card and pictures were all fine, and card still works.

I did ask her. She said to contact her programmers in Mesopotamia.
