I'm on my 4th Canon since 2005, 1st as Rebel XT, still working daughter uses it, 2nd was T1i still working, son in law has that, 3rd was 7Dmk2 which I sold after 2 years and still in excellent condition. Now have a 6Dmk2 and finding this really easy and fun..
Is it Neyecon or is it Kneecon? Canon has a more consistent pronunciation --- that's a very important factor when selecting which camera to buy. ๐
My local brick and mortar also has a big inventory of used cameras and lenses: Canons & Nikons both have lots of items, way more than mirrorless. Thatโs the trend you should be watching. Aside from that, I would hardly use UHH forum as a barometer for the market. Thatโs a pretty foolish model for market assessment.

Never mind pronunciation, how about all the Cannon posts...

Of course Pentax has a consistent pronunciation too, Of course in my state, our governor likely thinks it's a good idea to tax writing instruments.

I watch this section for Canon items and see very little.... mostly Nikon. I guess Canon users are very satisfied with their equipment.
When any new Canon product comes out lens or body you know it is compatible with what you have.
Nikon coes out with a new lens or body and yes it will mount but no other functions work thus you have to buy a new body for the latest lens to work or a new lens to work with the latest body.

Most top models of Canon bodies and lenses are made in Japan. Most models of Nikon are made in Thailand or China.
I have owned Canon cameras since the first Canon digital camera was sold. I now own two DSLR bodies and a number of lenses. My friend is a Nikon shooter and I have always felt his photos are sharper then mine. The fact that he is an excellent photographer and I am not might have something to do with it. I think in the right hands either brand will do the job.

You may be right, for the FEW people who use it, they must be satisfied.

We in the USA say "Neye-kon," which coincides with the spelling. The rest of the world says "Nee-kon" for some reason. If there were two ks, then "Nee-kon" would be correct.
Photographers buy Nikon. Linguists who don't like controversy by Canon.
