I watch this section for Canon items and see very little.... mostly Nikon. I guess Canon users are very satisfied with their equipment.

I have had the same thought I look at this thread every time I come online and specially Nikon
We buy the best to start with so we do not need to sell our junk. I think it depends on the timing and some what on the group. On Craig's list you seem to see more Canon and the area probably varies also.
Haha! I've been with Canon since 2005 (first a Rebel XT). Staying with Canon now as have too much invested, learning and lenses but also fairly happy. FYI son in law during same time has had 3 Nikons either break our just die, but then he's a professional...
Funny. I remember someone making the opposite observation about a year ago. Watching this section for a few years, I'd say the level of for-sale activity can be correlated with major camera releases where Nikon's D850 has generated a lot of upgrade and change-over activity.

For the last 20 years, I have bought Audi's my wife leans more towards Lexus. Is that a lot like the perceived difference between Nikon and Canon cameras?
Perhaps they are too embarrassed to admit to owning one by posting it here in this section.

People like Canon cameras. I have two Canon (AE-1 & AE-1 Program) and have 11 lens for both cameras. I don't looking to sell them. I have also a Nikon F and to me, the two Canons are as good as the Nikon F. Being I left handed a Nikon F is a hard camera for me work with. Now that is my view on Canon's cameras. I not looking for a fight.
Finish the phrase....Can't afford to buy a nikon 'cause I can't afford to replace it one year later.

I'm an amateur - but even I managed to have two Rebels die 2007-2015, and despite my "investment" in Canon {excellent} lenses and flash, I switched to Pentax.
Perhaps Canon cameras typically don't have a long enough lifespan to make it onto the used market... other than as "non-working, for parts" units.
By Canon's own admission they have fallen behind in the innovation area. Nikon has had a couple of hits in the past few years, the D500 and now the D850. That attracts interest in the brand. And, of course, promotion.
Years back Canon took the lead with innovation and promotions, but lately they have been resting on their laurels.
They both have Sony to contend with now. Once they have a full set of quality lenses available they may rise to the top ... for a while.
Everybody gets their day in the sun. That's good for competition.
