I am going to put 14 pictures on some kind storage device. Is it best to use a CD, DVD, or flash drive? I will not be using any type of download or dropbox, only a tangible storage. I hope I'm explaining this clearly.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

Best would be to get back with your clients, so you know which would be best for them ( the way they're set up/ what would be the easiest for them)!

If in doubt ask the recipient their preference although most people have access to USB so a thumb drive is a common option.

USB type drives are inexpensive and quite reliable but consider SD cards also as they can be even cheaper than a thumb drive. (For small GB size)
The advertising on a thumb drive is an excellent idea too..

Dropbox is my first choice.

But if you want to hand over media a 16gb flash drive will cost you about $6

CPR and WayneT, Thank you for the suggestions of thumb drives. I will look into finding some with a smaller amount of storage.

Chris, I’ve never really found really cheap thumdrives like CD’s.
The problem with thumb drives is that they don’t seem to get cheaper, they just get higher capacity!!
Ideally if someone knows a source for say a 1gb drive for a dollar or less would be ideal.
Let us know if you find cheap ones!!

Just Google “cheap usb flash drives” and there they are... not .20 each like CDs, but under two bucks.

How does your comment help when the OP already said he will not use Dropbox?

Daddybear,
Thank you for the great suggestion of having a logo imprinted on the thumb drive! Do you recall where you had them made?

Sometimes it's about speed. Sometimes I will upload to a sharing service while sending hard media in the mail to save a couple of days on delivery time. I like inexpensive Class 4 SD cards for mailing unless the customer doesn't have a reader, then it's a USB drive.

I commission photography and I prefer getting filed delivered on hard drives (really big projects), flash drives or for really small projects digital delivery. Digital delivery through things like Hightail are a cost to the sender, but not the recipients. 14 photos, would be either digital delivery or flash drives. We're in a Mac environment and only one machine reads CDs/DVDs.

Best way is to use "We Transfer" free service. Let them worry about how to store or accept photos. You tell them up front this is how the photos will be delivered and there are no problems or added expense. A flash drive is easily lost and computers now days do not have DVD players. Everybody is used to the download method of accepting software and graphic items. There should be no problem.

You can get flash drives with your name printed on them like a business card, that might be what your looking for, I still get ads from a vendor frequently, Bob.
