The first one is not clear, so I would say 2. But could be camera movement.
#2 is definitely better for the cropping aspect. It is also sharper. But you need to rotate the cropping to straighten out the perch. It is going downhill and the bird is falling out of the picture.
Second one. It is sharper and has a less distracting background.
#2 but needs to b leveled
I like #2, it's much sharper.

2 clearer and better composition, IMO
I prefer the composition of the first one but the feather detail on the second bird is way sharper.
2 is better for all the aforementioned reasons plus the catch light in the cardinals eye is much better in 2.
I'm going with #2... nice focus on his eye!
Go with number 2 for all the above reasons. /George
