The famous work, by the late American photographer Richard Avedon, first appeared in a 1981 issue of Vogue magazine and was made into a best-selling poster.
Kinski was regarded as an international sex symbol in the 1970s and 1980s. Her roles included an award winning portrayal of Tess Durbeyfield in Roman Polanski's 1979 film Tess.
The print, entitled Nastassja Kinski and the Serpent, is expected to fetch between £20,000 and £30,000 when it is offered for sale at a Christie's auction of photographs on Wednesday.

Gratuitous crudity. Thanks so much.
The NY Met had a show about his work. It was amazing!

I feel better now knowing that the model was never in danger of having the squeeze put on her... by other than the photographer.
Oops... just checked Wikipedia and the Burmese Python does kill prey by constriction. Oh well.
And what has all that to do with the photo? Nothing! Still a great photo, and still some good humour in the comments.
