I love the way WOlfs are not afraid to make eye contact with humans. They are telling you that you are not a threat.

rg,
Your comment is to me spot on, watching the wolfs interactions with humans and between themselves.
The wolfs have a heirarchy and we humans don't enter into it. (Except the one that brings the food)

Mike

Saturday the 10th of February visted the Brookfield Zoo, had received about 8-10 inches of snow over the previous 2 days.
Spent a few hours at the Wolf exhibit and took some shots, let me know what you like and don't like.
I was trying for composition.
All shots take with D500 and Nikor 200-500, editing in Lightroom for Tonal Balance and sharpening.
The captures varied, metadata is attached.
If you look close at the second picture, there is a shaved patch on the wolfs front leg, of the 6 wolfs, 5 we could identify same shaved patch on either of the front legs. My shooting buddy and I think the wolfs had there teeth cleaned. The crops were to identify very clean and white teeth.
Saturday the 10th of February visted the Brookfiel... (show quote)

I like all of them. My favorite is the extreme closeup.

I love the one with the two together 8-) ...- except the focus should be on the one to the left with the snow on nose - and you clipped his ears .....8-(

This was the capture before the 2. The closer 1 was the one that I focused on. As you can see his head was turned.

Brent,
Thank you for your reponse, I missed a couple oppurtunities where teeth were bared once over a bone, and another the Alpha Male got a little too close to the Alpha Females tail.
The snow does help hide the fact that the wolfs are in an enclosure.
If you had opinion on something different I would like to hear.
Regards,
Mike

Mike, about those missed opportunity shots where the teeth were bared...........you know what Wayne Gretzky (the famous hockey player) said: You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Of course he was talking about hockey but the same applies to photography!
