This was the capture before the 2. The closer 1 was the one that I focused on. As you can see his head was turned.

What a lovely shot, Mike ....

Missed that one, before ....

Mike, about those missed opportunity shots where the teeth were bared...........you know what Wayne Gretzky (the famous hockey player) said: You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Of course he was talking about hockey but the same applies to photography!

Brent,
I agree , there is one I heard from Charles Glatzer about Wild Life photgoraphy, "he who has his eye to the viewfinder wins". To be politically correct, it probably should be they who have their eye to the viewfinder wins.
Thanks for the reminder, there is a lot to keep in mind in this world of phiotography.
Mike

BTW ... the word "wolfs" is non-existent. The plural of "wolf" is wolves.

Unless, of course - you are using it in the possessive manner.

In this case - it might be "this wolf's eyes are very expressive" ....

I wasn't sure you were, Mike ...

In my earlier post, I used the word "wolves" and so did a few others ...

But, later on in the thread - you still used the word "wolfs" a couple of times ....

So, I thought I'd put this up, and not as a direct response, either - in order not to affront you, and, in the hope - you'd catch it ... Peace, Bro ....

Really, Dick?

Very well done, too ....

I used to have a ginger cat who looked just like that ... brought her back from Montreal with me .... back in 1972 .... (long gone now)

I called her Sinar ... after the 4x5 View Camera I'd always meant to get ...

Nope ... never did ... not a Sinar, anyway ....

I opened the box, put in a battery, pointed toward the basement window, curious cat looked at me, click, and now thousands of people all over the world know this cat, I even did a redo a few years ago at the request of several fans of 'Meow', named by my granddaughter, cat is now 11 years old and still sits in that window!!

And, now, it's world-famous, eh, Dick?

And I'll bet you STILL don't know its name, huh?

Oh, I see ....

For some reason - I'd thought a) you were talking about the magazine b) the cat was NOT part of your family - even though your granddaughter gave it a "pet" name!

Saturday the 10th of February visted the Brookfield Zoo, had received about 8-10 inches of snow over the previous 2 days.
Spent a few hours at the Wolf exhibit and took some shots, let me know what you like and don't like.
I was trying for composition.
All shots take with D500 and Nikor 200-500, editing in Lightroom for Tonal Balance and sharpening.
The captures varied, metadata is attached.
If you look close at the second picture, there is a shaved patch on the wolfs front leg, of the 6 wolfs, 5 we could identify same shaved patch on either of the front legs. My shooting buddy and I think the wolfs had there teeth cleaned. The crops were to identify very clean and white teeth.
Saturday the 10th of February visted the Brookfiel... (show quote)

This is a great set, Mike; clear and well framed.
