As a 80 yr old "Lefty" I have only encountered "ONE" item in my lifetime that was made for left handed people -
that was my Remington 700 7 mm magnum - same price just special order.
Yes - being a "Lefty" has many disadvantages. - DSLRs are just one of them,

OK. I have tried BBF on my D500 for a couple of weeks and have given up. I am left-handed and use my left eye for the viewfinder. Apparently there is some subtle movement that I make when I press my thumb on the AF-on button to keep it out of my right eye and it causes enough slight camera movement, making my images less sharp. I verified this again this am with about 10 shots with BBF and 10 without BBF, using shutter release. Several of the BBF shots were oof, whereas all of the shutter release shots were in focus. I am using AF-C and group focus, so I can't blame it on a missed focus. I have not tried AF-C versus AF-S with BBF because I saw in an earlier posting that it only works in AF-C mode, plus I use this D500 for sports shots, so I'm not interested in AF-S anyway. So I gave it the old college try, but I'm going back to shutter release for the focus. I think that for right-eyed shooters, this BBF is a great option, but for sports shooting, I cannot afford oof images. I tried using my right eye, and it was a pure stupid-silly exercise for me to try to do---it was like throwing a baseball with your opposite hand.

Anyone know if Nikon has a "left-handed" camera body in the works?

A flat brush with angled bristles would have to be purchased for either a left or right hand user. Any artist knows that!

No wonder I have such problems with painting myself into a corner!! I've been using the wrong brush. I'll go back to that same store I got my left-handed hammer from and get me several sizes. Thanks for helping me solve a problem.

I have macular degeneration in my right eye and am right handed. Have to use the left eye with the viewfinder and the right hand for controls. I use bbf on one camera only and shutter release on other cameras. Guess you can get used to most anything if you try.

Turn your camera up side down then you have a left-handed camera

I did that one time with the camera on a tripod using a 200mm micro lens and it was very awkward. I think it would result in me shooting the ceiling instead of the floor....lol

I'm left handed. Left eye dominant. However, I do some things right handed. Play ball, golf. Shoot a rifle or shotgun left handed, pistol right handed with my left eye. Lefties must be more versatile to survive in a right handed world. As my dad (also a lefty) used to say, "Everybody's born right handed. Only a select few overcome the handicap!"

Being left handed myself I share in your woes and frustrations. I have a problem in that I keep touching my glasses with my right thumb and put a big smudge lens. Please excuse my ignorance, but what is BBF?

Larry, a buddy on here, gave me a tip that you might consider. I shoot BBF and am left eye dominant. He suggested I try an eyepiece extender, to keep my face off the back and provide more space for my thumb.

I’m left handed and heft eye dominate. On the d850 I’m still using the assigned button on the back of the camera for BBF. I’m sold on BBF, however, my right thumb competes with my face to use the assigned BBF button. I’d be better served to swap the PV1 button to focus and the rear button to check my depth of focus. My PV2 button is set to switch to Group AF.
For Nikon users, Steve Perry’s book on the “secrets to Nikon autofocus systems” is excellent, I found it to be very helpful!
