Recently someone in this forum discussed the virtues of a hand strap but I cannot find the post. I am looking for a good quality hand strap for large SLRs and would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.
A lot of camera makers make their own, Nikon, Canon and Pentax for example, first I would look at their offerings ( the Nikon strap is a really nice one)!
I have hand strap on my D3300 all the time. I also have a battery grip. I tried 3 different straps before I found one I liked. The ones that wrapped around your hand and held tight with velcro worked the best. However they were the most uncomfortable. They were also a pain to put on. What I found simple is the best of both worlds. Its a just a padded leather strap. It goes from the top to the bottom of the camera. I was looking for a brand but all it says "camera grip LH made in Japan.
My choice is also the Spider Pro. Very comfortable and strong enough to hold my D750 and the 150-600 if I need to, steady and firm! Must check it out. Leather with felt lining, also comes with an additional wrist strap
so it does not slide you wrist. Might want to check out their holster while you're at it!
