Well, I like it! It's the eye make up, That's what drew my attention, let's see some more of this set!
When I press the "grunge" button in Topaz Adjust... I expect grunge not velvet smooth silk !!! Excellent shot.
IMO I don't think she's the right subject for a grunge shot. A beautiful woman should be smoother to me. Grunge should apply to a cowboy, an old wrinkly man (or old woman). But not a young woman.
I also agree with bill p and jd750. She looks strained and not relaxed.
Drop the grunge and lower her right arm and keep everything else you've done, and I think you've got it!

I would have liked to see more dirt and grease on her body, and perhaps a smudge on her face where she has wiped the sweat (yes, a bit of sweat would have helped). I wish her right breast/nipple were not hidden. I also agree that the elbow is a bit awkward. So maybe it was just the wrong moment in time. Do you have any others in this set?
Greetings guys, at first I didn't like grunge art when it appeared years ago in art, typesetting, music, Hollywood ads, etc. but being exposed to it I saw the possibilities of doing something different with my images instead of the same old smooth look. It's just different, not better.

I see the Norman Rockwell look in this one of mine using this technique.

It may be best to forget the "grunge" look. I agree with most, its not good.
Hey Dan, do you mean just for nudes? Because in the pic I posted above of the girl with her arm on the wall, the grunge version seems to hold my attention longer.

Just don't like grunge I guess. It held my attention too, but not in a nice way. Does look a bit posterized, if you like that.
For Grunge to work well the model needs to be completely grunge. This lady's styled hair (an old cap would work) and the fingernails just DONT fit the scene (work gloves?). The pose seems awkward to me, she doesnt seem to be in the mood for this. Maybe some suggestions to improve it will be forthcoming. good photo tho (lighting and exposure), keep trying, you have a good start.
I got the pic from the moment I looked at it. I also liked the other pic of this model in the abandoned factory you previously posted. I would not think this abandoned location would be a comfortable place to be much period less to be in it nude. I think you captured something here in this photograph.
Yeh, I think that if you are shooting on location the background can play a big part. That's what this was all about. But you still have to make it work.

Often when I look at shots like this, I try to think what I would do different for my taste. This is not a critique, but personal interpretation.
I could not come up with much other than to say that the three things I would address. 1. The face. 2. The "hanging" arm. 3. The raised leg. I found them to be uncomfortable at first glance. But I cannot say how I would "change" each of the three. The one thing I would like to see is either including what may be supporting her leg or having the leg extended to the floor. The issue in my mind being "grounding" the model. Again, my impression, nothing more.
The difference I see of the shot from the offered example of grunge shot is the relationship of the model to the environment.
Yes, the unnatural look of the arm and leg are what are the worst parts. Maybe if they weren't so unnatural I wouldn't mind the grunge.
Maybe you guys would like to see something like this?
