Let me add one more for both Bailey’s and Phillips’ books. I shoot both the X-T2 and X-Pro2. These books have been invaluable!

Just a quick share that might be of help to Fuji X-T2 users. I have this camera and love it but I must confess that I was not using this camera to its potential so I purchased a copy of Dan Bailey's book from his blog. I am only about 1/3 through it but it has been so helpful. You all may know this but 3 very helpful functions that I did not know are:

Setting up My Menu- you can put almost any menu item in here and when you go to menu this category comes up first- what a timesaver if you have to go into menus. And it is not difficult to set up. Go under the Set Up menu to start.

"T" on the speed knob on top of the camera- if you set your speed to "T" then you can control your speed from your front or rear dial quickly up to a 15 minute exposure. It eliminates setting the speed on the camera.

Action Shots- It only takes 3 quick steps to set up the focus for birding, sports, etc.

Now I don't want to sound like an advertisement for Dan Bailey but if I don't learn anything else, I feel I got my moneys worth! The book is about 300 pages.

The Fujis are both simple and complicated. You can use them creatively without ever looking at a menu, but then you can dig deeper and find out all the other things you can do with it - it has many levels. That is part of their elegance. And the image quality is superb. I have the Tony Phillips book, and will probably never avail myself of all the functions that he describes.

I own the Bailey book, but an even better book is the one by Tony Phillips http://tonyphillips.org/product/x-t2/?v=fdd13832cd81 which I also own. The YouTube's The Angry Photographer has some very helpful instructional videos on setting up the X-T2's function buttons and also on making best use of its autofocus.

I agree, Tony Plillips' book is a great resource.

Just curious- you own both the X-T2 and X-Pro 2 cameras- does one camera do something the other doesn't?

The pro-2 has a hybrid viewfinder whereas the XT-2 is EVF, otherwise the differences are ergonomic. I don't see why anyone would want an optical view with the beautiful EVF that lets you preview everything as the XT-2 has.

I am real happy with my X-T2. I just hope that I live a little longer to enjoy it or at least learn some of the features. I also have a Nikon D750 which I am somewhat comfortable with but I need to get more proficient with the new X-T2.

If we're talking about reading "aids" to help us past Fuji's manuals, then please add Rico Pfirstinger's name to the list of authors worth buying. He released a highly acclaimed ebook with X-Pert tips to get the most out of the X-T1, and has done it once more for the X-T2 .......

The main problem I find with the manuals is they are microscopic gray print on gray paper: practically unreadable even with glasses. Two pages and I have a headache.

Yep, Cat ...... agree with you there. They're not the most inspiring of "instructors" !

Regarding Rico ...... I think I got the "use of the T shutter speed in manual exposure mode" that Suntouched refers to from him in his tips for the X-T1.

Ha!
Your are on a roll today, Jerry!

Uh- Oh! He has a book on the X-E2 too...
I had his book for the X-E1.
It went with the camera when I sold it.
Where's the Gas-X?
