Just a quick share that might be of help to Fuji X-T2 users. I have this camera and love it but I must confess that I was not using this camera to its potential so I purchased a copy of Dan Bailey's book from his blog. I am only about 1/3 through it but it has been so helpful. You all may know this but 3 very helpful functions that I did not know are:

Setting up My Menu- you can put almost any menu item in here and when you go to menu this category comes up first- what a timesaver if you have to go into menus. And it is not difficult to set up. Go under the Set Up menu to start.

"T" on the speed knob on top of the camera- if you set your speed to "T" then you can control your speed from your front or rear dial quickly up to a 15 minute exposure. It eliminates setting the speed on the camera.

Action Shots- It only takes 3 quick steps to set up the focus for birding, sports, etc.

Now I don't want to sound like an advertisement for Dan Bailey but if I don't learn anything else, I feel I got my moneys worth! The book is about 300 pages.

I too bought the book and have learned a lot about my X-T2. I also like the fact that Dan adds updates and corrections as they come.

I don't mind sounding like an ad-man for Dan Bailey, sunny. I've found him to be one of the most humble and encouraging professional photographers I've met (and I'm still a rookey with a simple X-E2). I've heard him say, more than once, that a person can spend a year with a Fujifilm X-camera, learning the camera, and making very good photographs, without ever diving into the menus.

And, once he has your name and has had a conversation with you, he's very apt to remember it a year or two later.

And, BTW; when I saw him last year he was carrying an X-T2 with the Fujicron 35mm f/2, in his "new camera case" (cross body, under his left arm, on the OEM X-T2 camera strap), everywhere he went. He told us it's, now, his favorite EDC camera and lens combo.

I have that e-book, "X-Series Unlimited." I concur that it is a great book (available as an e-book only). Note that it covers all Fuji X-series cameras--not just the X-T2.
It is reasonably priced, updated every time Fuji updates X-series firmware (updates are free), and available on-line as an e-book at:

Yes, a very good resource that I take with me on my tablet either when on a shoot or just to browse when I'm traveling. I had been shooting with the XT-2 for a year but learned a lot more about this great camera after buying his book.

Excellent idea- I never thought about loading the book to my iPad.

I also have the Bailey book. I haven't had the time to jump into it yet, but have already found some time-saving tips. I also own the X-t2. I've had it for a year and still am just scratching the surface of what this thing can do.

Thanks for the post!

I traded all of my Nikon crop sensor gear and one of my Nikon FF lenses to get the Fuji X-T2 with the 18-55 lens. I really like this camera but the users manual is not cutting it. Thanks for the Dan Bailey tip. Will look into this today.

I own the Bailey book, but an even better book is the one by Tony Phillips http://tonyphillips.org/product/x-t2/?v=fdd13832cd81 which I also own. The YouTube's The Angry Photographer has some very helpful instructional videos on setting up the X-T2's function buttons and also on making best use of its autofocus.
