It doesn't happen all the time and it sure is a great sight to see. When the winter takes hold of the high country, the elk move to lower altitudes so they can eat without using a lot of energy. When it's really cold like it's been, they spend a large portion of the day grazing for food, thus, we get great photo ops. Thanks for looking AuntieM.
