Just saw this on Nikon Rumors - looks like Adorama is doing pretty well with getting them out:

That is true, I looked at the D810 on their site a couple of days ago and they were in stock. You can also go directly to the Nikon site and get them but you are limited to only one per order

With all due respect, you have two excellent cameras. The D750 (I have used it but I do not own it) has 24 Mp. which are enough pixels to satisfy anyone. The OM-1 has 17 very capable megapixels, based on a sensor that has been modified with each new model. Do you need 47 Mp.? Those are a lot of pixels.
I cannot understand the tendency to own "the best and the latest" instead of owning "what I need." I am not criticizing your decision but calls my attention that you are using two excellent cameras and you do not seem to be satisfied with them.
I have always recommended to use what we have if we do not need new features that could make our photography easier, perhaps you do. More megapixels is not among my favorite features and as a matter of fact the camera that has more megapixels, my Nikon D610, is the one that sees less use.
Please, do not misunderstand me. I have nothing against a person who believes a new camera with more megapixels will change his photography although I admit it is hard for me to understand it.
" I can wait but just have the want for one. ... (show quote)

I have also been looking at the Olympus EM-1 mark II. They make great cameras that shoot a lot like Nikon.

I have the d810 and the d500 . So the d850 is basically the d500 version of the d810. Wait for the d850 you will be glad you did .
People will have all the comments like " you haven't probably completely mastered all the abilities of your current camera " blah blah bla.
The d850 with its latest processor and autofocus system runs circles around the d810 . The ability to lock focus faster and more accurately is hands down worth the wait.
I enjoy using my d500 so much more than the sluggish d810. With that being said i now find myself using the 810 more and more over the 500. The ff picture quality in low light is just hands down better. No if and or buts about it .
I shoot live music photography in a lot of small dark clubs. After looking through thousands upon thousands of raw files the d810 is better.
A friend just got the d850 and had the d810 he is really liking the 850 files over the 810

I just got mine. The D850 is worth waiting for.
Now, I have to dig back into Steve Perry's Autofocus book that he's updated for the D850!

I waited a year for the D850 to be introduced and am glad I did. It was worth the wait. My only Nikon regret is that I waited a year after the D500 was introduced before replacing my D300s with a D500. These cameras are a quantum leap forward in technology and not just in the sensor.

I got on Nikon's waiting list but they cancelled the order after 30 days. Next best bet was Best Buy...it worked, the 850 arrived in 4 weeks. Now learning how to use it!!!

Check a local store, get on their list. Check smaller online retailers like Roberts Camera - and get on their lists. IMO, the D850 is a really great upgrade from the D810 and worth the wait. In the meantime, just use what you have.

I would agree, many camera stores offer a pre-order program. At least you’re on a waiting list and it costs nothing until you’re order arrives. I ordered my D850 the first of September, it arrived the first week of November. I would think if you pre-order you’d receive your D850 before they are in stock at the various retailers. I had a D810 which I loved but sold it to move up to the D850. For me it was worth the wait.

It seem that you can't find one right now. I was thinking the Nikon D810 because find them. Anybody own one? I found a Nikon D850 on Ebay but I can't trust them on being a USA camera.

Just order one from a reputable store or online store and wait to get one that you know is good. Trust your gut on this. Nikon just couldn't fill orders fast enough so be patient.

Here is some info on the D850 shipments. Seems like Adorama has a very short waiting list. http://nikonrumors.com/2018/01/01/its-january-1st-2018-and-the-nikon-d850-is-still-out-of-stock.aspx/
