It seem that you can't find one right now. I was thinking the Nikon D810 because find them. Anybody own one? I found a Nikon D850 on Ebay but I can't trust them on being a USA camera.

How fast do you want one? Also, well worth it to check with local store.

I have no problem waiting 6mo to a year for them (D850) to become more readily available. Later production runs might have any errors or bugs fixed and updated software. While the D810 is very good, I just as soon wait and get a D850 . . .

Why are so many people impatient about getting the D850 camera? I have to have it Right Now. Or else? It will be in abundance in just a few months. By late Springtime. Use what you have until it is available. Patience is a Virtue. It reminds me of the Tickle Me Elmo Toy sold many years ago. Buyers paid high Black Market prices to get one by Christmas.

I checked the local store and nothing. I can wait but just have the want for one. Right now I have the Olympus OM-1 and Nikon D750.

I suppose that would be GASN. Meaning Now or Nikon? Your choice.

Check a local store, get on their list. Check smaller online retailers like Roberts Camera - and get on their lists. IMO, the D850 is a really great upgrade from the D810 and worth the wait. In the meantime, just use what you have.

Happy New Year to you!

I have the D850 and a D800. My personal opinion is the D850 is worth waiting for. I would save your money and get what you really want. I can't image that you can't use what you have for the time being. Unless you don't have anything at all.

I was just checking Roberts camera where I bought my Nikon D750 at. Very good camera store. I just bought a used Paul Buff Einstein with receivers from them.

I would think that the difference would be especially noticeable in crop mode

I looked into this and it appears that from the big guys (B&H, Adorama, Amazon) you're looking at about six weeks+/-. The smaller stores and your local store will most likely have a shorter waiting list so you would stand a better chance of a faster delivery from them.

Just saw this on Nikon Rumors - looks like Adorama is doing pretty well with getting them out:
