To document my travel. Since retiring in 2004 I've been to 29 countries including 4 times to Africa and my still photos and videos (now I enjoy videos more than stills) let me relive experiences.

I started in photography to celebrate the beauty and wonder of the world around us. And, also, because I can't paint or sketch.

Marilyn and I wanted a meaningful purpose for our photography. We agreed that each photo would extol the greatness of God's creation.

Where you live you certainly don't have to look very far. I wannabe where you are.

So that I can continue to view the world through the eyes of a child, everything is new and exciting. I wake up each day looking forward to new views of my surroundings that have become invisible to most people as they reach adulthood. It is my way of staying young at heart and mentally sharp, and if I get a keeper that day it's icing on the cake.
Keep shooting my friends and don't forget to look down, your next best shot might just be at your feet!

Other than to sell and share with friends, my house is my gallery. I get to change photos every few months giving me an inexpensive (?) makeover of my living environment.

Aside from doing it commercially or for some $ gigs! What does this hobby do for you?

Enjoyment, relaxation, accomplishment, learning (keep the mind engaged). Plus I'm a bit of a tech geek and love new toys.

I live in an exquisitely spectacular part of the world, with scenic beauty everywhere around me. I am very fortunate and I like to share my fortune with others who may not be as lucky as I am to live where I do. And I get zen-like pleasure finding, composing and capturing those images that are worthwhile to share.

I document certain activities, Wine making, Badminton tournaments (indoors), making Italian sausages and other Italian foods. These will be memories for myself and many others.

I have poor eye sight, so I think creating a picture in excellent focus is a thrill. Looking at what my mind's eye tells me is there despite my eyes saying it isn't. And then capturing it makes me very happy, I don't get a lot just right but when I do it makes me want to run out and do it again.
