I mostly do it for fun, but it’s also therapeutic for me. Taking photographs is a way to escape from everyday life and problems.

Because I took picture of m y children 30 plus years ago, I can share them with my granddaughters. They like seeing their mommy doing the same thing are are doing now. So sharing memories is at top of my list.

That a tough question to answer, but I've been fascinated by photograhy since I saw a $0.98 camera in the window of a local drug store when I was about eight years old. I've been buying and using cameras ever since. I enjoy it.
It helps me with my second hobby: blackmail.
I enjoy taking pictures of the seasons and gamy gatherings sunsets in Oklahoma as well of barns when traveling!!

Living in Guatemala turned out to be a bit more challenging than expected, and from time to time very frustrating. At times it has been so frustrating I felt like I was going full frame nuts! I desperately needed something to distract me from this crazy reality I live in.
Photography has been an interest since childhood. During a solo trip to Europe, with a borrowed Canon, in January this year, I made up my mind. Back home in GT again, I ordered the best camera I’ve ever had.
Photography is my distraction from what otherwise would have a negative impact on my daily moods, my attitude, and ultimately my personality.
With the camera I have to search for the good parts, the beautiful parts, this country have to offer. Because they do exist! The camera and my constant search for good photos forces me to look for the beauty of life. And while doing it I shut off the rest of this crazy world and its people.
For me it is meditation and therapy at the same time. As a result of this self invented “therapy” I’m a better person emotionally. And the results can also be seen in beautiful pictures.
Same reason as the posts above it’s fun and healthy gets me out of my office and home to enjoy nature and try and find interesting images to capture
Learning about gear and technic s a learning process tat fills the mind with positive influence in an an atmosphere peace and time for one self
So that was YOU outside my window last night!!

No, it wasn't. And besides, there were no other witnesses.
When I go into a friend's or relative's home and see one or several of my pictures hanging on the wall, that really makes it worthwhile.
