This Summer I was able to locate and photograph several Barred Owls. Just about every backroad I went on had a pair of Barred Owls. The Barred Owl will respond during the day as well as the evening. Their calls are remarkable have more than the other types of owls. When Barred Owls join up in the woods the have a Caterwauling call where all the owls start call at the same time.
Wow! That is so cool. Didn't know these owls were day-timers! Thanks for sharing your great set of photos.
Those were excellent and Sharp. Great job.
Great pictures AND loved the information regarding the owls. Take care & ...
Great pics rstrick and they are remarkable birds. Two weeks ago I had one fly up to me early one dark morning and sit about 20-25 feet away for 10 minutes, just watching me until the mate showed up and then into the woods....and the caterwauling started. Nice, really rice set of photos you have there.
Those are amazing shots! Thanks for sharing. I hear them where I live, but cannot find them.

Fantastic set. I've got a small preserve near my house, where a Barred Owl resides. I've tracked it every time I've been there. I have yet to click the shutter once. It loves letting me know it's around, with it's calls but doesn't allow it's picture to be taken. Gary
Nice, and thanks for the info. Learned something new, always a treat.
